Job Description
· Development of PC and HTML based GUI software systems to allow customers to download, monitor and manage data from test readings.
· Develop User Apps for portable devices such as Android and iOS based devices.
· Support the software post launch with debugs and upgrades
· Conduct all relevant software testing and debugging.
· Create suitable technical documentation
· Liaise with local (Chinese) and global customers when conducting Beta testing in various applications.
· Potentially develop web based application
People management:
None required but will work closely with the UK based team of 3 electronics and software development engineers.
Requirements:
Job specific (technical) skills:
Must have a proven history of designing, developing and delivering Graphical User Interface software systems encompassing data retrieval, display and manipulation.
Must be proficient in some of the following:-
- Java
- C++
- HTML / web design
- C#
- LINUX
Experience of mobile App design using iOS and Android
Must be creative to be able to produce innovative graphical solutions.
Knowledge of Agile Development techniques would be an advantage
Experience of firmware programming would be an advantage
Literacy and numeracy:
Fluent verbal and written English is essential as this role will liaise with the UK on a daily basis.
Personal attributes:
Must be self-motivated and capable of working on own initiative.
Logical and structured approach.
Excellent communication skills
Excellent time management and prioritisation skills
Interest in international travel. This role will involve training in the UK.
Desire to learn new skills and progress within the organisation
Qualifications:
First degree qualified in suitable software development discipline.
Experience:
Proven track record in GUI systems development with portfolio.
At least 3 years post grad experience, ideally within an engineering / scientific organisation. Experience within the water testing industry would be an advantage but not essential.
