Role Summary/Purpose

The primary responsibility of our Technical Support Specialist is addressing technical inquiries and complaints regarding gene modulation products (reagents for gene expression, silencing and detection) from customers, distributors, and local dealers throughout the Dharmacon business. This person will have input into technical support resources with complaint management as a key focus. Essential Responsibilities

• Interact daily by phone, email, live chat with customer requesting technical product guidance
• Address product questions and troubleshoot experimental procedures for Molecular biology products (RNAi, Gene Expression, PCR/qPCR)
• Provide product support and training to sales teams.
• Provide professional seminars and conferences presentation according to different research fields.
• Implement best practices to continually improve the customer experience and monitor resulting metrics to gauge customer satisfaction and agent performance
• Maintain up to date detailed knowledge of products, solutions, and services.
• Be able to present and discuss the technology and commercial benefits in terms which are relevant to the customer.
• Maintain up to date market and competitor knowledge related to products, solutions, and services.
• Assist in the preparation and review of technical documents and web content for molecular biology techniques
• Assist with customer orders and the customer services team as required.
• Work with other Dharmacon technical supports groups via e-mail and/or phone to address customer's technical issues as necessary.
• Attend the scientific meetings to learn the research trends for Molecular biology products (RNAi, Gene Expression, PCR/qPCR) and feedback to the sales team and the marketing team
• Maintain good relationship with key customers and create new value by collecting useful information from key customers.
• Give technical lectures in seminars.
• Write technical articles for the email magazines and upload on the website as well.
• Translate technical manuals, application notes into local language.
• Attend scientific meeting and collect information.
• Search the scientific literatures on demand from the customers and the sales reps.

1. Aware of and comply with the GEHC Quality regulations as they apply to this job type/position
2. Complete all planned Quality & Compliance training within the defined deadlines
3. Identify and report any quality or compliance concerns and take immediate corrective action as required

Qualifications/Requirements

1. MS or PhD in Molecular Biology, Cellular Biology, or Biochemistry
2. 3-5 years experience in a laboratory environment
3. Experience with the following Molecular Biology concepts, techniques, and procedures:
a. RNAi and Gene Expression (siRNA, shRNA, miRNA, cDNA, and ORFs)
b. PCR and qPCR
4. Excellent verbal and written communication skills
5. Excellent organizational and analytical skills
6. Strong presentation skills
7. Excellent computer skills – familiar with MS Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, Outlook
8. Experience with sound scientific principles and good experimental design
9. Desire to build customer allegiance even when facing challenges
10. Drives continuous learning among customers, colleagues, and self
11. Self-starter, results oriented, and able to multi-task
12. Demonstrated problem solving ability and results orientation
13. Ability to communicate using English (and local language)
14. Able to travel
