ETL Developer


Responsibilities

? Design, code and test ETL logic to meet user requirements while under the constraints from various sources such as:
? ETL tools – this could be a proprietary tool or an industry known tool.
? Source systems’ data and structure.
? Source systems’ data availability & timing.
? Target systems’ architecture
? Target database’s data model requirements and architecture
? Technical, architecture requirements as set by PFS or by State Street
? ESP (the State Street Data warehouse platform).
? Product strategy to offer reports that can support SaaS and non-SaaS delivery. SaaS and non-SaaS usage could result in additional constraints and complexities
User requirements could come in different forms:
? Data mart requirements for support reporting and data analytics
? Data latency requirements; or other SOW benchmark requirements relating to the scope of the data; and the timing of availability; and data recovery
? database platform (SQL, Oracle and ESP-based on Oracle Exodata)

? Will work closely with the data modelers to ensure an efficient process of extracting data from source systems and making it into a robust data schema in the target data warehouse.
? Meet aggressive production deadlines
? Provide production support to client-support team
? Document the ETL logic to explain them to business and technical users.
? Codes should be delivered with low number of defects
? Code review and unit testing.
? Will work as a member of a global team – provide status, communicate issues, share ideas, and follow PFS process, standards and guidelines for development and support protocols.


Requirements:

? Bachelor’s degree or above in computer science or equivalent.
? Minimum 3 years’ experience with ETL tools such as Pentaho, SSIS, etc.
? Minimum 2 years’ experience:
? Understanding of SQL and Oracle database capabilities
? Experience with DB data model design
? Understanding of data warehouse issues and standards.
? Experience with software development languages such as C#, Java, C++, javascript, etc is a plus.
? Capable of verbal communication in the English language
? Capable of creating technical documentation in the English language
? Team oriented – capable of working in a global setting – willing to be available during non-core working hours
? Detail oriented and strong sense of responsibility.
? Knowledge of Finance and accounting is a plus.
? Knowledge of Software Design Pattern is preferred.
