Description
Position: Senior Software Engineer in Test
Position Summary:
In this role, you have the opportunity to accelerate delivery and improve the quality of SEVEN's products, in use by millions of users around the world. You will be responsible for designing and implementing test infrastructure, creating and enforcing good engineering practices, and evaluating product quality for various SEVEN's products. Your primary responsibility as a Software Engineer in Test will be to work with the development, quality assurance and product management teams to create new test harnesses, automate testing, implement new automation tools and create innovative automated test systems. These test systems explore and validate the functional correctness and performance capabilities of our software.
Major Duties & Responsibilities:
- Lead and actively participate in the development of test automation frameworks, tools, test plans and test cases. Develop database queries, database automation scripts. Improve testability of Seven products by implementing necessary hooks, add-ons.
- Identify opportunities for product improvement, with a focus on application testability.
- Participate in technical reviews of project requirements, specifications, and test plans.
- Identify, isolate, report and track product defects in the defect tracking system.
- Work with QA, Customer Support, and Software Development to resolve product related anomalies.
- Work with Technical Publications to review product documentation.
Skills & Experience Required:
- BS in Computer Science, or related field
- 2-5 years' experience in a professional software testing environment with an emphasis in API level and non-functional level testing and experience in using and developing test automation framework or tools.
- At least 2-3 years' experience in Java development
- Strong analytical capabilities to identify incidence of issues across components of a complex software system, attention to detail
- Experience in scripting languages (Perl, Python, Ruby, UNIX shellscripts)
- Experience in testing or developing test frameworks for mobile or networked client-server applications
- Strong oral and written skills, ability to work both independently and collaboratively
- Good command of English
Desired Qualifications:
- Solid Java testing experience with JUnit or other xUnit framework
- Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases (Oracle, Cassandra, etc)
- Experience with Unix/Linux OS
Solid software testing background is a plus, but what are looking after is that you love figuring out how software has been built and pride yourself on your ability to break it.
