Director Engineering, Server

SEVEN is seeking an inspiring technical leader with a passion for products and a deep understanding of software architecture, development tools, and processes. You will be responsible for growing a team of talented engineers, as well as leading the overall planning, system architecture and successful execution of software server products.This role will lead the design initiative and team collaboration, as well as extensive, efficient coding.As a Director, you will play a key role in defining and building network-enabled wireless data applications.



Major Duties & Responsibilities:

- Manage a team of engineers who architect, design, and implement server components of the System SEVEN product;
- Investigate new technologies to improve current products and build new products;
- Ensure scalability and performance across the server components;
- As the owner of server, work with Product Management, Marketing, Software Quality Assurance, and Project Managers to deliver high-quality software products to our global customer base;
- Work with field organizations to help support SEVEN's worldwide customer base.
- Build up a work class server engineering team and Interview candidates for hiring decisions.


Skills & Experience Required:

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent; Advanced degree in computer science or related field preferred;
- 7+ years management experience in internet server software engineering, as director in a multi-national env highly desirable;
- Expert-level proficiency of OOD/OOP patterns with multi-threaded, client/server as Agile master;
- Experience with oracle, mySQL or other database technologies, and cloud computing technologies;
- Experience building and deploying a web application in a clustered environment to support millions users;
- Experience with J2EE and open source Java technologies, highly desirable;
- Experience with developing large-scale software products that serve millions of users, highly desirable;
- Experience with C/C++, .NET, and Windows technologies;
- Excellent problem solving skills.
