A great opportunity exists for a suitably qualified candidate to join one of China’s largest foreign real estate firms (FTSE250 listed company) as a Project Manager specializing in MEP (Mechanical Electrical and Plumbing/Hydraulics) Engineering. The successful candidate will be joining Savills Shanghai Project Management Services team. Key Duties and Responsibilities:

§ Provide project management support and assistance to the rest of the project team on an as required basis;

§ Drawing document reviews and provision of MEP engineering advice and comment;

§ Carry out periodical attendances on project sites in order to review progress and assess quality and conformity with the documented design

§ Ensure that communication is at all times clear, open and honest and conforming to the highest standards of integrity

Major Requirements/Competencies:

Technical:

§ An undergraduate degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Hydraulics engineering or related construction focused design or engineering discipline;

§ A minimum 5 years experience in the real estate or building construction industry;

§ The successful candidate should have competency in utilizing design and engineering software such as CAD or similar design software;

§ Background knowledge of and competency in managing procurement and tendering activities;

§ Background knowledge and understanding of applicable regulatory procedures, authorities and approvals;

§ Working knowledge of the general contractual, legal and regulatory regime as it applies to the construction industry; and

§ Prefer background in Commercial Office and/or Retail project delivery;

Non-Technical

§ The successful candidate will demonstrate a successful and proven track record in the area of MEP engineering review or related sector;

§ Excellent personal presentation and a genuine desire and ability to participate and positively promote and represent the business at industry functions and events, Client meetings, formal project bids and interviews and in informal/social engagements as part of business development activities;

§ Client focused with excellent customer service skills;

§ Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both Chinese and English; and

§ Pro-active, self-motivated and positive attitude
