职位描述
GENERAL PURPOSE
This position is responsible for ensuring that the products being produced by our subcontractors in Asia consistently meet Milestone’s specification through leading groups that have input on design and supplier production processes and controls.
DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
Manufacturing Excellence:
? Provide technical leadership for defining, upgrading, and improving internal and contract manufacturing processes
? Design the manufacturing engineering team to provide global support to supply base and customer
? Establish and standardize manufacturing process and controls to be used across common manufacturing sites both internal and external
? Research and identify new manufacturing methods to be used to improve the overall cost, quality, safety and delivery of our products
? Assist with the development, planning and execution of the manufacturing strategy
? Work with product engineering team to transfer new products into high volume manufacturing as well as provide product sustaining support to existing products to achieve continuous improvement in cost, quality, delivery and safety
? Develop performance metrics focused on safety, quality, customer satisfaction, and process performance
? Develop the manufacturing engineering community to own the manufacturing process and identify as well as resolve issues from the supply base to customer use;
? In coordination with Director-Purchasing & Logistics-AP and U.S.-based Global Supply Chain management team, develop and maintain company processes, policies and procedures to ensure that suppliers meet company product requirements (supplier quality audits, supplier corrective action processes, supplier process audits, first article validations, and inspection strategy); Provide input into supplier selection, qualification, and monitoring processes
? Provide oversight and training of AP quality personnel needs and assist in developing efficient operation of the quality processes (Corrective and Preventive Action, Control of Nonconforming Material, Monitoring and Measurement, and Calibration); implement process improvements
? In coordination with Director-Quality and Design Assurance, ensure compliance to quality assurance processes, policies, and procedures
? As directed or as necessary, participate on or lead cross-functional CAPA project teams
? Provide input to management team regarding departmental needs and/or resolution of escalated problems.
Design Assurance:
? Maintain knowledge of industry including knowledge of certification requirements for ISO, UL, TUV, and other certification bodies internationally and ensure that regulatory requirements for products are communicated to responsible personnel
? In coordination with product management and engineering management, implement internal design standards for products and ensure compliance to internal and regulatory requirements
? Ensure that requests for 3rd party listing (e.g. UL, TUV, OSHPD) are completed timely, product listings are updated as appropriate, and any issues with 3rd party listings are resolved with limited impact to the supply chain
? In coordination with engineering management, implement and maintain test methods for validating product designs
? Ensure that requests for testing are completed in a timely manner and are conducted according to established requirements
Management:
? Effectively influence and communicate between internal departments to facilitate projects
? Develop and implement department or company goals, objectives, policies and procedures; analyze and recommend strategies to improve effectiveness of operations; evaluate reports, decisions, and results of department in relation to established goals
? Complete department budget preparation, analysis and administration; monitor expenditures; approve invoices and purchases as required
? Plan, assign and manage the work of others. Monitor workloads; provide or arrange for back-up or additional resources as needed
? Provide effective, constructive and appropriate feedback and leadership to direct reports to foster positive, team atmosphere; direct and develop personnel to improve individual performance through training, team and individual development
? Initiate and assist with the creation, development, and implementation of processes and procedures
? Consistently support compliance by maintaining the privacy and confidentiality of information, protecting the assets of the organization, acting with ethics and integrity, reporting non-compliance, and adhering to applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations, and the Company’s policies and procedures
? Understand workplace hazards and take steps to proactively prevent and report hazards or injuries in the workplace. Cooperate in Safety Programs, initiatives, and investigations

? Ability to manage a wide variety of engineering disciplines in a global environment
? Demonstrated ability to establish a manufacturing engineering vision and direction coupled with follow up and execution on implementation with minimal oversight
? Ability to weigh technical options and establish a business rationale for following a certain manufacturing approach
? Ability to prioritize work based on the criticality of the business and resource availability;
? Demonstrated capability to execute on New Product Introduction and drive efficiency improvement into our products
? Demonstrated leadership skills
? Ability to produce results when facing deadlines or commitments
? Proven knowledge of quality assurance processes such as corrective action, control of non-conforming material, inspection, and calibration
? Proven ability to solve problems utilizing common problem solving methodologies/tools such as PDCA, DMAIC, 8D, 5 Why, Fishbone diagrams, is/is not tables, pareto charts, control charts, etc.
? Proven broad knowledge of operational processes such as design, quality assurance, and various manufacturing processes
? Ability to communicate effectively (verbally and written)
? Excellent interpersonal skills
? Proficient in the use of personal computers, internet and Microsoft Office suite of software including Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook (or related e-mail system)
? Ability to interpret standards, specifications, procedures, drawings, etc.
? Mechanical aptitude
? Proven ability to present facts and recommendations effectively in oral and written form
? Excellent project management and planning skills, while providing high attention to details
? Proven ability to work independently and as a member of a team
? Proven ability to manage people; train and motivate employees at all levels, as well as delegate effectively

Minimum Education and Experience Required:
? Bachelor degree in mechanical engineering or other related technical degree with a minimum of ten (10) years quality or manufacturing engineering experience, with a minimum of six (6) years managing engineers or other technical personnel; or combination of relevant education and experience
? Experience working with and resolving issues involving design and manufacturability of sheet metal, metal castings, plastic moldings and precision machined parts
? 3D CAD work experience
? Implementation experience with management systems for quality, environmental, or safety
? FMEA and SPC usage to evaluate and control manufacturing processes
Special Job Requirements:
? Must be available for long, varied work hours at times
Preferred Qualifications:
? M.B.A. or M.S. in Engineering
? Experience with Solid Works
? Six Sigma Black Belt certification
? Experience working with multiple disciplines, including electrical and mechanical design, layout, manufacturing, external suppliers and service providers
? Experience working with third-party standards such as UL, TUV, or CE or with regulations for consumer products
? Bilingual English and Mandarin
