Website Content Manager, Global Publishing Services

The primary role of a Website Content Manager is overall management and accountability for designated websites. The Website Content Manager will be the main point for contact for stakeholders. The job holder will be a “Final Approver” in the content publishing workflow – and therefore bear ultimate responsibility for content on the site. As a Final Approver, a Website Content Manager may be required to be available at short notice for the deployment of emergency announcements. The Web Content Manager will have strong language skills and be responsible for editing and managing content, checking facts, and ensuring overall integrity of the site. The jobholder will provide alt text and metadata to help improve site accessibility and search engine optimization; assist in maintaining and improving website metrics; and help manage tracking spreadsheets for Compliance and copyright. The job holder will work with the Digital Publishing Delivery team to identify areas for technical improvement of the site and get these technical changes implemented. The incumbent is required to have a level of understanding of content management systems used by HSBC, and will have to achieve competency in those systems.

Job Duties:
Impact on the Business
-Ensure team adherence to department guidelines, compliance regulations, policies and procedures regarding content and design through constant communication and regular implementation monitoring initiatives including training and coaching team leads who are tasked to implement them.
-Work with specialist teams to generate and analyse web metrics. Keep abreast of web metrics and web development industry standards and best practices by research and attending regular training programmes and seminars.
-Maintain a holistic as well as detailed view of the design for the entire site. Maintain documentation and ensure consistency in interaction design, naming systems, navigational elements.
-Ensure team adherence to department guidelines, compliance regulations, policies and procedures regarding content and design through constant communication and regular implementation monitoring initiatives including training and coaching team leads who are tasked to implement them.
-Ensure a high quality of work by regularly reviewing team output, training and coaching staff on the use of new guidelines and how to meet quality standards, and consistently seeking to achieve zero quality error.
-Ensure delivery of projects according to specification, cost and timeline by regularly monitoring project requirements, planning and directing production in close collaboration with other team leaders, assigning work to staff and coaching them as needed, and reviewing staff reports.

-Enable to monitor and improve production metrics, and provide training opportunities through the timely submission of productivity reports.
-Develop professional and harmonious relationships with GPS customers through constant, personal communication aimed at obtaining a clear understanding of the business objectives and situational context of their project requirements.

Leadership & Teamwork
-Ensure a steady improvement in one's skills and capabilities by supporting, planning and attending collaborative work and in-house cross-training opportunities, and assisting direct Line Manager in developing one's annual and quarterly training plan.
-Maintain proficiency in current versions of software used within HSBC required to perform duties and seek written certification of proficiency from line manager on least an annual basis.
-May be required to mentor other team members and managers on content management and required procedures in relation to digital production.

Operational Effectiveness & Control
-Ensure compliance with all Group, GSC, company and department policies and procedures by constantly updating knowledge and understanding of such, raising questions and concerns with team leaders or managers as necessary, and taking personal responsibility for abiding as required.
-Ensure that all activities are in accordance with Compliance standards.
-Assists in the implementation of the Group compliance policy locally by containing compliance risk in liaison with the Global Compliance Officer or Local Compliance Officer ensuring adequate compliance resources and training, fostering a compliance culture and optimising relations with regulators; Maintains HSBC internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators; Awareness of Operational Risk associated with the role, in compliance to SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Requirements) for Group Service Centers (GSCs).

Requirements:
-Post-secondary education - either at the degree level or a relevant professional diploma or certificate
-Experience in digital publishing.
-Web development and experience in content management systems preferred
-Experience with Web metrics systems and industry standard methodology preferred
-Must demonstrate ability to liaise/coordinate with a multi-disciplinary interactive development team
-Attention to detail and good command of UK English both written and spoken
-Good interpersonal skills
-Strong attention to detail under pressure and ability to meet deadlines
-Structured, systematic working style
-Good people skills and an enthusiasm for teamwork
-Positive attitude and keen to learn
-Maintains composure and professionalism in a fast-paced work atmosphere
-Flexibility in working different shifts when required
-Available to work overtime on weeknights and weekends if necessary
