Main Tasks / Key Accountabilities
§ Close cooperation with Hangzhou fabric and merchandising team in regards to sourcing and product development within the Hangzhou region
§ Covers all product ranges: knit, woven, denim, junior
§ Research and analysis of existing and potential new supplier/vendor (mill, garment manufacturer etc.)
§ Frequent visits of existing suppliers/vendors and sourcing of potential new ones
§ Proactive offer of potential products, styling’s and fabrics from existing or potential suppliers/vendors to German headquarters
§ Overview of all product development options within the Hangzhou region
§ Participation into daily merchandising operation i.e. checking Proto, attendance of Forecast & Selection meeting.
§ Search market trend information within China mainland (fairs, store checks, suppliers)
§ Support designers in terms of sourcing and product development and communicate their needs to Hangzhou merchandising team
§ Accompany designers from Rottendorf during their visit
§ Coordination and information sharing between Product Center Asia, Product Development Coordinator’s among other Asia offices and Hangzhou merchandising team
§ Attendance of pre-seasonal briefing meeting in HK if necessary
§ Any other task assigned by supervisor

Profile
§ Strong market and product sense
§ Knowledge in fabrics, yarns, garment constructions and finishing’s
§ Ideally, experience in China sourcing market
§ Good communication and presentation skills
§ Ability to work in a team
§ Good organizational skills and capability to prioritize
§ Proactive
§ Respect to business management (adhering to prices)
§ Ideally, considerable creativity

Education
§ Diploma or above in clothing technology, merchandising, textiles, fashion design or similar related subject

Working Experience
§ Ideally up to 5 years of work experience in comparable position

Language Skills
§ Good command of written and spoken English
§ Good command of written and spoken Mandarin

Others
§ Proficiency in Microsoft office applications
§ Ideally, knowledge in Adobe Illustrator & Photoshop
