职位描述
Requirement:
1. Four-year Degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Sciences (Chemistry, Engineering) or Business
2. 5 years of environmental, health, and/or safety experience
3. The most important attributes and skills of this position include: High ethical values, strong work ethic, self-motivated and directed, good problem solving capabilities and common sense, detail-oriented, good stress tolerance and ablility to work under pressure, good personality and a team player, good communication skills, good technical ability, good computer skills, good time management, good organizational skills. Knowledge of the process and demonstration of good Process Safety Management knowlefge is very beneficial.
4. Good at reading, writing and oral English.
Main Responsibility:
1.Primary EHS-related Contact for a Facility Location
2. EHS-related Plans, Programs, Policies, and Procedures
3. EHS Inspections and Audits
4. EHS-related Training and Exercises
5. EHS-related Recordkeeping and Report Submittals.
6. EHS-related Projects and Tasks
7. Safety Culture and Safety Committee Leadership
8. Knowledge of EHS-related rules, regulations, and best management practices
9. Help provide safe work environments and practices for all personnel (employees and non-employees).
10. Help comply with applicable EHS-related requirements (federal, state, local, company, and facility).
11. Act as the primary EHS contact for the facility (e.g. workplace incidents, regulatory inspections, etc.).
Main challenges-
1) Maintaining a fair and neutral position between employees and management when it comes to safety-related issues and disputes.
2) Getting buy-in and support for new EHS-related initiatives. Employees will be resistant to change and extra work if they do not see the benefits.- Ensuring identified issues of non-compliance with EHS-related requirements are properly addressed. It can be challenging to preserve employee relations while still completing necessary job functions.
3) Quickly and properly responding to emergencies and other difficult situations, which this position has responsibilities for. An improper response can result in severe consequences for employees and company.
4) The job position has a wide range of responsibilities with ever changing issues to deal with many being new or unfamiliar. Need to be able to constantly juggle and reprioritize workload to be effective.
5) Being aware of changes at the facility that may have safety or environmental consequences. Many changes require considerable advanced notification to apply for applicable environmental permits.
6) Other changes require review to look at potential safety hazards or Management of Change requirements.
