Web Administrator - JBoss

B.S. in an Information Technology field or equivalent work experience.

3 Years extensive experience with the listed technologies.

* Must be able to speak and understand English language

* Excellent oral and written communication skills

* Strong problem solving skills

* Good organization and prioritization skills

* Ability to work independently and/or as part of a local or distributed team with peers in USA or South America, etc.

* Strong analytical skills required

* 3+ years in configuration or system support field in web hosting environment.

* Strong Knowledge of JBoss application server, Apache http server and open source Admin tools

Job Description

* Responsible for the configuration and maintenance of the web environment activities including designing, configuration, testing, debugging, and documenting processes.

* Develops and maintains configurations using the appropriate technology or language

* Responsible for the deployment of application changes

* Responsible for collaborating with programmers and infrastructure group to prepare site specification documentation.

* May act as the liaison between business/user group representatives and other team members during support efforts.

* May need to develop QA acceptance testing, plans and criteria for the web environment. Thoroughly tests site to ensure proper configuration for maximum performance and availability. Both create and execute test plans.

* May be responsible for 1st tier support for assigned applications. Identifies and triages JBoss application issues.

* Responsible for developing estimates on related project work.

* Responsible for staying current with new technology developments and development techniques.

* Responsible for monitoring and reporting project status and anticipating potential issues that could adversely impact schedules.

* Provide post-implementation support

* Ensures availability of systems through application monitoring.

* May research and evaluate software and hardware to assist in software development on different platforms.

* May investigate feasibility, costs, time and compatibility with hardware and other software systems.

* Responsible for site up-time and performance monitoring.

Mandatory Technical knowledge:

* Need to have knowledge of jboss application server. (2 year working experience minimum)
* Need to have knowledge of apache http server. (3 year working experience minimum)
* Need to have knowledge of apache tomcat server. (2 year working experience minimum)
* Need to have experience in dos/windows scripting (any scripting language)
* Need to understand TCP/IP to be able to troubleshoot performance issues.
* Need basic knowledge of databases (db2/400, db2 9.5, mssql, mysql).

Optional knowledge or pluses for the position

* Understanding of java from a high level standpoint (need to be able to read and understand java code in order to ease the troubleshooting)

* know and administer Subversion and Git repositories. (administering and troubleshooting experience)
* have knowledge of jira (dev ticket system) (administering and troubleshooting experience)
* have knowledge of confluence (CMS/Wiki system) (administering and troubleshooting experience)
* scripting experience in bash, powershell and/or python.
* knowledge of hudson (continuous integration build system)

* knowledge of IIS7 http server. (administration working experience)
