General Responsibility:

Provides support to the Designs and Purchasing teams in enhancing sourcing value, and competitive advantages; by obtaining the latest yarns development in the market suitable to our Designs and Product needs, and meeting quality, pricing and lead-time requirements.


Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

1.Stays on top of fashion trend and concept of yarns for each Season, and to plan core basic needs
a).Attends yarn shows to ascertain new yarn, or yarn improvements available in the market
b).Visits yarn mills and suppliers, to research initial concepts and develops quality yarn

2.Works with Creative Directors and Designers on yarn requirements, and develop samples with yarn mills.Recommends to the Designs Team appropriate yarns development, suitable to Designs intent.

3.Leads the yarns mill selection and evaluation process, and recommends to the EVP/Purchasing teams the most appropriate yarns mills that will serve the best interest of the Company;
a).Supply base management and new supplier development.
b).Establishes Yarns prices bench-marking, to ensure we get the best prices and quality available.

4.Receives and reviews sourcing requisitions; specifications and quality requirements.

5.Requests and analyses Supplier’s quotes, and do initial negotiation on competitive pricing.
