The Composites Application Development Lab Technician is accountable for daily lab operations to support conversions of various market requirements into composite solutions. This role works closely with the Application Development Lab Engineers and Technician to conduct daily lab operation.

The successful candidate must have a good experience of lab operation, safety management, and hand on spirit.

This position will be located at Owens Corning China Composites Center in Pudong, Shanghai.

The position reports to the CCC Application Development Engineer.

1. Demonstrates a commitment to safety

· Participates in regular safety meetings

· Ensures rigorous compliance to standard safety procedures and OC corporate policies

· Continuously improve the safety performance in the assigned lab area

• Zero accidents / RIR on projects
• Complete safety action plan

2. Executes Application Development Lab Daily Operation

· Fabricates product prototypes and conducts field evaluations using OC materials

· Performs laboratory and application testing

· Documents technical work and produces reports for internal communication

· Execute lab work in a timely and accurate manner under the supervision of engineers.

· Perform maintenance activities of lab equipments to ensure effective operation.

Metrics

• Lab operation meets OC Quality Requirements and Standards
• Provides product performance insight not readily apparent in test data

Experiences:

Handling of thermosetting resins in lab enivorments

Operation, and maintenance of composite fabrication equipments, experience in filament winding will be a plus

Safety management of R&D lab

Chemicals handling following local and company policy

Hands on experience on thermosetting resin and glass fiber reinforcements

Knowledge and Abilities:

• An associate degree or similar level of education background
• Knowledge on HPP or CNG product certification will be a plus
• A working knowledge of MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint) required
• Mechanical, hands-on aptitude is a MUST
