Contractor Position (Contract with the third party)

Working location: Jian Ye Rd. Chuansha, Pudong, Shanghai

Description


The Lab Technician actively participates in China Composites Center (CCC) Materials Characterization team that delivers pipeline of projects that have significant impact on the growth of Owens Corning. This role contributes to the business’s success by providing quality testing and technical support on new product, process, and application development projects for composites products and/or systems.


The position reports to Mechanical Testing Lab Supervisor


Responsibilities
1. Demonstrates a commitment to safety
· Participates in regular safety meetings
· Ensures rigorous compliance to standard safety procedures and OC corporate policies.

Zero accidents / RIR on projects
Complete safety action plan
Practices good housekeeping habits


2. Provides Technical Support on Projects


· Fully understands customer requirements and needs for the improvement/development of materials or systems to increase customer satisfaction.
· Applies expertise in product testing to adequately support development projects and initiatives
· Balances multiple assignments across individual or multiple projects
· Works effectively across regional R&D teams to ensure project success

3. Executes Material Testing


· Performs regular mechanical testing including sample preparation, treatment and testing, data summary and applies understanding of standardized test methods.
· Analyzes data from trials and product testing and produces reports
· Supports unique or ad hoc testing to identify product/material performance in unique applications.

Job Requirements


Experience and Knowledge Requirements:
An Associates degree is required, preferably in mechanical or material engineering.
Basic knowledge of material testing, methodology, sample preparation, and standards is highly desired.
Must understand and use basic statistics and be comfortable using a computer. A working knowledge of MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint) required; expertise in MS-Access is preferred.
Mechanical, hands-on aptitude is needed along with a natural enthusiasm and ability to solicit customer insights in the field.
Occasional travelling per business needs.
