THE JOB
You will be leading the design and realisation of our fabrics and report directly to the CEO. You will work closely with the fabric merchandisers (Hangzhou), fabric design team (Amsterdam).
* COLLECTION PLAN: build a collection based on set goals and quantities per price range, technique category, fashionability/commerciality, and ecological standards.
* FABRIC DESIGN: make and review graphic designs of lace, embroidery, jacquard, and print patterns (illustrator). Both collection and custom design projects for clients.
* TECHNICAL FILES: communicate new designs in clear and complete technical files.
* DEVELOPMENT: evaluate S/O’s and communicate the feedback into clear instructions for suppliers.
* MATERIALS: source and evaluate materials to use per design. Focus on ecological and certified solutions.
* FABRIC LIBRARY: maintain our fabric library both digitally and physically: price lists, barcodes, picture taking, data input, and warehousing of physical materials.
* TREND BOOKS: seasonally, create a collection of sourced novelty qualities to offer to our RTW clients.
* EXHIBITING: Première Vision, Paris, twice per year.
* FOLLOW-UP: follow up with design- and swatch-related requests from clients and agents.
* MANAGING: you are responsible for all the above, by partly executing, but especially by well delegating and overseeing the operational works.
* DEADLINES: pro-actively steering the workflow so that the set timelines for the projects are respected.
REQUIREMENTS
* EXPERIENCE: proven experience in fabric design and development.
* KNOWLEDGE: characteristics of fashion textiles and garments.
* COMPUTER SKILLS: illustrator; OS-and MS-programs, excel.
* FLUENCY: English and Chinese.
* PERSONALITY: organized, time-focused, passionate, creative, resourceful.

Being specialized in embroidery and lace, we design and manufacture for fashion houses operating in the premium and luxury segment. We showcase our collections on Première Vision, Paris, seasonally. Furthermore, we are represented by agencies in New York, Los Angeles, Seoul, Melbourne, Osaka, Brussels, and more. In addition to our fabrics, we provide ready-to-wear manufacturing. We have offices in Amsterdam and Hangzhou.

Our design office is in Amsterdam. Our production offices are in Hangzhou and Riga. Our USP lies in fabric design; we continuously create and source materials to propose to our clients, who operate in the premium and luxury segment. Additionally, we in-house a menswear designer label under another name.
