We are looking for a skilled and organized Sr. Fabric Merchandiser Manager with a good fashion sense hands-on attitude and outstanding communication skills in English and Mandarin in order to strengthen our fabric team in Shanghai.
Reports to: General Manager
ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Source, develop and price-& lead-time negotiate fabrics of all kinds throughout ASEAN by utilizing season and collection briefing provided by the brands
- Continuous pro-active fabric sourcing and innovation input to all GW brands
- Build strong partnerships with Design-, Purchasing- and Merchandising Team in order to shorten communication channels and provide quick-response
- In charge of fabric risk assessment and fabric risk elimination
- Monitor sample and bulk fabric lead-times
- Train fabric suppliers to GW fabric guidelines and quality parameters
- Build-up and train assigned junior fabric merchandiser and enable junior merchandiser to grow in the position to become a strong team member
- Maintain a constant and strict follow-up with all suppliers on fabric production & delivery status including lab dip making, dyelot samples approval, shipping advice, test report and etc.
- Follow-up and monitor fabric quality (sampling & bulk) as well as review and approve quality and colour and handfeel (L/D & D/L)
- Continuously improving fabric vendor base in accordance to the company’s needs (design, quality, prices, leadtime)
- Responsible for the fabric library.
- Build and maintain a strong working relationship with all suppliers.
- Teamwork with merchandising team and other colleagues.

REQUIREMENTS
- University degree or similar in textile & design merchandising or related disciplines.
- At least 5-10 years solid work experience in an international buying office or large trading business.
- Strong technical background in textile fabrics and garment construction is a must
- Strong experience in fabric sourcing and product development to enable creative sourcing and product development which fits our design-teams and brands product ideas.
- Fashion trend oriented personality / Interested in design and fashion to enable brand's potential
- Innovative and intercultural mind-set with a team player attitude
- Independent and transparent way of working
- Sound negotiation and outstanding interpersonal skills
- Strong communication skills in English and Mandarin is essential
