LifeFoundry is an emerging startup harnesses synthetic biology, robotics, and artificial intelligence to construct and optimize biosystems for production of value-added chemicals. We are dedicated to revolutionizing the paradigm of biotechnology R&D with our industry-leading fully-automated biofoundries.

If you are excited to join us in the effort of transforming lives, LifeFoundry Biosystem Scientist position is for you. You will work closely with the automation engineers and other research scientists in a multidisciplinary environment on the development of new methods, high-throughput biomanufacturing processes, analytical assays, and novel functional micro organisms. This position is offered at the China Facility of LifeFoundry in Hangzhou. We would love to have you on board for this exciting journey!

Major duties and responsibilities include

• Developing novel high-throughput workflows for molecular and cellular manipulations
• Performing biosystems designs for novel industrial organisms
• Performing research and developing chemical analysis.

Requirements

• MS degree or above in biology, biochemistry, chemistry, bioengineering, chemical engineering or related fields
• >3 years of research experience, preferably in synthetic biology, molecular biology, or metabolic engineering
• >3 years of wet lab experience. Proficient in basic DNA, protein, and microbial operations
• Strong communication and teamwork skills. Experience in managing and training research staff is a plus
• Excited to join a fast-paced interdisciplinary team working on a variety of challenging projects
• Self-motivated and able to work under minimal supervision and able to solve problems with methodical and critical thinking
• Basic English communication skills
