Candidate will be responsible for technology scouting and supporting R&D efforts in the semiconductor technology fields of the division Automotive Electronics (AE) within the mobility sector of Bosch China. Primary responsibility will be to engage with potential start-ups, incubators, accelerators and partners to discover innovation opportunities for the Bosch China Semiconductor Business.

Ideal candidates are exceptionally creative, motivated, and talented engineers with strong interdisciplinary backgrounds. The candidate collaborates extensively with all relevant engineering departments within the Automotive Electronics division, Bosch Corporate Research (CR), Robert Bosch Venture Capital (RBVC) and other Bosch divisions as well as with external partners.

The ideal candidate should therefore have exceptional communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities:

Leads the identification and evaluation of viable new technologies and companies for existing or future solutions (horizontal, vertical business opportunities) by:

• Scouting for new external partners in all relevant industries (start-ups and large corporations)
• Partnering with internal product development and R&D departments to identify external business and technology needs
• Support in building long-term relationships (worldwide through all AE scouting hubs) with external start-ups/companies/suppliers/universities that are likely to develop technology solutions in specialization/areas of interest
• Establishing in-depth knowledge of the capabilities and culture of an identified set of key partners. Align their capabilities with the needs of Bosch and of AE
• Promoting and selling potential partners/ideas/technologies to a wide-range of internal stakeholders
• Serving as the key technology expert for technical evaluations and bridging with internally with stakeholders on all levels
• Transferring new technologies to internal stakeholders with the objective of commercializing new technologies quickly
• Conducting and/or leading the assessment of novel technologies/solutions (technical due diligence)
• Documenting findings from scouting activities and effectively sharing with peers as well as facilitating future re-use (knowledge management)
• R&D support if needed
• Contribute and support development of regional semiconductor business strategy by evaluating scouting and market insights

Qualifications:

• M.S. or PhD in Electronics Engineering, semiconductor or Computer Science
• 3+ years of semiconductor industry experience with a working knowledge in automotive technologies and applications (consumer is a plus)
• ·？？？？？？ Technical expertise in ASIC (Application Specific Integrated Circuit) analog design, digital design, verification, layout realization or testing
• ·？？？？？？ Technical experience in chip level architecture, top level mixed-signal verification and validation is more favorable
• ·？？？？？？ Technical expertise in automotive application and system knowhow
