Successful candidate shall fulfill the job content and perform the duties and responsibilities as below:

  

The Head of IT is responsible for managing and overseeing day-to-day implementation, to realize fault tolerance of key IT area. Support and maintenance in the following areas:

  

IT team management

  

• Plan and build IT service team

• Coordinates activities by scheduling work assignments, and directing the work of subordinate employees

• Develop the work plan of IT department and the KPI of IT members

      

 

  

Network

  

• Direct daily maintenance to ensure maximum reliability and minimum service interruption

• Develop campus network infrastructure and network strategy, manage installation of required updates on infrastructure and client systems

• Maintain core services

• Recommend and implement changes and system enhancements to improve the network

• Government reporting of network information

   

            

Server

  

• Develop a server deployment plan that meets the campus business requirements

• Install and maintain various application servers (Linux and Windows system)

• Back up server configuration and data regularly

   

   

          

Client platforms

• Ensure standard configurations across the deployed systems

• Directly and with third party vendors manage the repair and servicing of equipment

• To seamlessly connect with the IT infrastructure in the new site, ensure the IT operation in the new site goes well

• Manage and maintain all IT-related equipment, such as computers (Windows and macOS system), tablets, video conferencing systems, etc.

          

Software

  

• Ensure all software is properly licensed

• Manage the installation and upgrade schedules for educational and business software

• Provide technical support for school management, accounting and educational software

• Assist the teaching staff in identifying and integrating educational software available in Hangzhou campus and other campuses domestically in China

        

IT security

  

• Ensure all LANs and VPNs are secure from both electronic and physical intrusion

• Review and maintain a proper level of access and password control

• Ensure data integrity through routine database scans

• Establish a disaster recovery plan

• Guarantee network data log is backed up on a daily basis

• Responsible for following up IT audits and improving audit issues

• Screen un-healthy information from internet

              

Reprographics

  

• Work with third party vendors to ensure the reprographics equipment runs smoothly

• Provide technical support as needed

    

Audio/ visual equipment

  

• Maintain the school’s inventory of audio/ visual equipment

• Assist in the installation and set up of equipment as needed

    

IT training and help desk support

  

• Provide training for both educational and business applications as needed

• Ensure proper procedures and staffing are in place to respond to teaching and admin staff requests in a timely manner

• Analyze problems, develop solutions, arrange preventive measures and maintain clear and consistent communications with internal customers on IT issues

• Develop IT-related software and hardware manuals

        

New facility development

  

• With the Project Manager, develop IT infrastructure plans and budgets

• Prepare IT and telecom cabling plans

• Identify hardware and software requirements

• Manage purchasing, installation and servicing of equipment with third party vendors

• Conduct infrastructure and product testing

• Manage IT handover and acceptance procedures from construction stage and ensure smooth operation in school operation

   

              

General requirements

  

• Maintain an inventory of all IT, audio/ visual equipment and licenses

• Ensure consistent documentation of the operating environment

• Develop the annual IT plan and budget with the Bursar and Regional IT Director

• Evaluate and set standards for hardware and software

• Develop change management schemes that smooth the transition to new equipment and procedures earning speedy acceptance of new equipment and upgrades

• Perform general IT duties as required

• Support other campuses like Changzhou & Nanjing when needed

              

 

  

  

• Must have a minimum of 5 years IT systems and operations management experience including 2-5 years of server systems responsibility on Microsoft platforms and recent experience on macOS and Linux-based server environments.

• 2 – 5 years network management experience

• 2 – 5 years experience with mid- to large-scale client deployment, emphasis on macOS deployments

• Minimum 3 years experience with IT infrastructure budgets and cost management

• Familiar with automated operation and maintenance and information security management

• Minimum 3 years experience supervising professional IT personnel

• Must be able to read, analyze and interpret computer hardware and systems management technical manuals and procedures

• Strong personal skills to communicate directly with end users in sometimes tense situations

• Bachelors degree in computer science, information systems or related computer field

• Strong to Fluent written and verbal English; Fluency in Mandarin Chinese

• Strong initiative, integrity and good judgment

• Fast problem solving skills in new situations

• Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously

• Strong communication in Chinese and experience in dealing with local educational bureau for net safety audit and documentation at local police bureau net
