Geneception Bio, Inc. is a privately held, early stage gene/cell therapy company founded in 2019. The company is based in Shanghai, China. We are seeking a highly motivated molecular biologist/virologist for an Investigator/Senior Investigator position in our Vector Engineering Group. This role requires strong scientific and technical expertise in AAV capsid engineering, molecular biology, and cell biology. The candidate will be responsible for evaluating capsids from rational design and screening AAV libraries in non-human primates with most advance technology platform. The candidate will also be involved in packaging and producing vectors as well as subsequent evaluation of the vectors. The candidate will function in a highly collaborative, cross-functional environment and be interacting closely with molecular biologists and in vivo pharmacologists. The candidate must have excellent organizational and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with different functional groups. This is a perfect position for a scientist with a strong molecular biology/virology background, who has a can-do attitude, strong work ethic, and ambitious goal for career development.

Responsibilities:
? Play a key role in a research project focused on screening novel AAV capsids with desired properties
? Use the most advanced methods to screen AAV capsid libraries to select capsid leads with desired properties
? Identify potential AAV variants based on various parameters revealed by next generation sequencing analysis
? Design and validate assays to assess the transduction efficiency and biodistribution of selected AAV capsids
? Interact with in vivo biologists to characterize the capsids from screening and evaluate the biodistribution and transduction efficiency in small and large animals
? Coach and mentor junior scientists and provide guidance to establish an efficient workflow on their work
? Constantly monitor the development of the scientific work in the field and bring new scientific concepts and technologies to the company

Requirements:
? PhD in molecular biology, virology, or related field
? 5+ years hands-on wet lab experience, AAV engineering expertise is strongly preferred
? Proven track record in mastering molecular biology techniques, cloning, RT-PCR, DNA and RNA recovery from tissues, NGS library preparation, etc.
? Experience with cells/tissue processing for protein analysis and IHC
? Capable of multitasking and performing multiple and complex parallel experiments in an organized way
? Skillful in trouble-shooting for potential problems arisen from different kind of studies
? Outstanding ability in planning studies, writing protocols and reports
? Excellent publication record in leading peer reviewed journals
