JMRE Medical Educational Content Specialist Job Description

About Us

The Jiahui Medical Research and Education Group (JMRE) is designed to tackle the pain points of current medical education to raise awareness of medical advances among Chinese physicians. Our mission is twofold: first, to bring high impact clinical and scientific content from advanced medical research and teaching institutions (including NEJM Group) into China and second, to provide an education platform that gives Chinese medical professionals access to pioneering medical knowledge and global best practices in a systematic manner.

NEJM 医学前沿, one of JMRE’s initiatives in collaboration with the NEJM Group, is a Chinese-language digital platform that addresses the growing need for trusted medical information in China. Each week, Chinese physician-editors translate a selection of full-text content from NEJM Group, applying rigorous standards to ensure accuracy and quality control. Accompanying many of these articles is local commentary from China-based physician experts to provide context and enhanced understanding of the impact of important medical advances on patient care in China. NEJM is the most widely read, cited, and influential general medical periodical in the world. As it evolves to meet the changing needs of its readers in the 21st century, it is committed to maintaining that reputation and integrity, while using innovative formats and technologies for new features and faster delivery and access.

What does a Medical Educational Content Specialist do?

The Medical Educational Content Specialist works closely with the JMRE business development team and the “J-Academy （一嘉医课）”editors to bring the development of educational content for Chinese physicians in both evidence-based and emerging medicine topics.

This position will

1) According to the promotion goal of the medical educational project, produce high-quality medical content;

2) Translation, writing, editing and processing of medical related professional copywriting;

3) Collect educational materials from divers; sources, analyze them, and integrate them into systematic educational content;

4) Follow up the international medical frontier progress and authoritative academic conferences, and plan relevant topics;

5) Cooperate with the Department's medical support work, compile and process CME contents such as relevant medical manuscripts;

6) Work with IT team to create videos or website for the medical education programs;

Core competencies

- Provide clinical insight into the build of granular content designs, together with an instructional designer – i.e. determining how related content should be clustered together and in what format content should best be delivered

- Ability to understand and present complex material and interact with physicians, surgeons, radiologists, sonographers, nurses, and other health professionals.

- Proactively stay informed of clinical advancement, regulatory requirements and guidelines through familiarity with relevant recent literature and regular attendance of national and select regional medical conferences

- Strong attention to detail and deadlines; a perfectionist attitude

- Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills

- Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively

Qualifications

- Previous experience in the development of continuing medical or clinical education activities for healthcare professionals, preferably including technology-enabled online learning

- Medical related professional background, master’s degree (MSN, MS, MPH, MEd, or relevant field) or above;

- Be able to search and read professional Chinese and English literature, and be familiar with evidence-based medicine; clear thinking and strong writing skills;

- Good communication skills and team work ability, with good pressure ability;

- Online medical editor experience is preferred.

- Creative in developing user-centric and interactive medical content

- Strong and up-to-date general knowledge in the medical sciences

- Proficiency with MS Word, PowerPoint and editoring tools
