This is a R&D Engineer role, reporting to the R&D Team Manager in Business Area – Industrial Automation located in Hangzhou, China.

- Reviewing requirements, creating high quality design and implementing efficient and effective solutions together with your multi-disciplinary team members.
- Developing software according to quality and security guidelines.
- Conceiving test strategy and building test automation scripts to ensure high quality before products release.
- Analyzing risks, solving problems, decomposing bottlenecks and generating recommendations for optimization.
- Living ABB’s core values of safety and integrity, which means taking responsibility for your own actions while caring for your colleagues and the business.

- A bachelor’s degree (BSc) / master’s degree (MSc) in computer science, control technology or electronics engineering.
- Must have more than 3 years of C/C++ development experience on Linux/VxWorks platform, development background of large-scale C/C++ projects is preferred.
- Familiarity with UML for modelling design and analysis, and fieldbus protocol such as PROFIBUS, HART, PROFINET, OPC UA, MODBUS, MODBUS-TCP, CAN.
- Specialist knowledge of DCS/PLC systems control and electromechanical applications.
- Must be proficient in using more than one scripting language like shell, python, etc.
- Sound understanding of agile methodology and software engineering practices, such as version management, code review, unit test, continuous integration, static code analysis.
- Must be a good team player in a collaborative team, must enjoy the challenge of developing software with new innovative technologies
- Fluency in spoken and written English for daily work.
