Job Title: Engineer, Supplier Quality

Quality Engineer

 

Responsibilities:

• Preventive Quality Control in the supplier selection process, conduct supplier quality audit to assess suppliers' designing, manufacturing and inspection capability.

• Manage supplier resources and execute routine audits for early detection of issues, and drive supplier to improve quality capability continuously to ensure highest level of Quality and Reliability is delivered.

• Reactive Quality Control in problem solving (8D/CAR) to work together with supplier for root cause analysis, correction and prevention taken to improve supplier quality performance.

• NPD Quality Control in drafting technical and quality requirements to establish and validate (utilizing statistical tools) process capability, incoming, in-process and outgoing quality control to our standards in meeting innovative product designs as well as test and quality requirements.

• Support cross-functional NPD stage-gate review in each of new production introduction phases, including supplier capability, process and line readiness, quality control plan, reliability test plan, test setup, limits, Correlations to ensure end-to-end quality coverage.

• Coordinate with Product Management, US Quality Engineers and supplier to develop FMEAs and Quality Control Plans.

• Responsible for Pilot Run and First Article Inspection performing to ensure product technical and quality requirements.

• Coordinate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Product and Project Management on engineering changes.

• Responsible for corrective actions dealing with non-complying product to Federal, State and International regulations and standards.

• Work with the Quality team (in US and China) in ongoing process improvement projects and initiatives. 

• Conduct audits, including closing out audit findings, creating audits finding reports and determine proper corrective and preventive actions.

• Identify and execute Quality manual changes in accordance with findings and Quality management.

• Work with the Supply Chain group in identification and certification of new suppliers.

• May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

   

  Qualifications:

• Bachelors/University degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, technical field or equivalent knowledge/experience may be considered.

   

• Six (6) or more years of experience in Engineering or Quality with emphasis in Supplier Quality Assurance and New Product Development.

• Good working knowledge and experience with Regulatory standards such as UL, CSA etc., particularly in Contractor Electrical or Consumer Electrical products.

• Strong computer skills with emphasis on the Microsoft Office suite: Outlook, Word, Excel, SharePoint and PowerPoint.  Experience with SAP a plus.

• Strong English language skills, both verbal and written.

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.

• Strong project management skills with excellent attention to detail and accuracy.

• Excellent problem solving and analytical skills related to product design, product function and product failure analysis.

• Strong working knowledge of inspection and testing techniques and equipment.

• Procedural and Technical writing skills.

• Organizational agility/getting things done through others

• ASQ certification a plus.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.

• Travel frequently & able to work independently under high pressure and self-driven for development across different categories.

• This position located in Zhangzhou or Ningbo city.
