Job Description

• Working effectively as a dedicated team member as mechanical development engineer for Interior Monitoring Systems (driver monitoring and occupant monitoring) to execute mechanical designs according to defined technical requirements, schedule and quality from project start to series
• Lead the interaction with customers and global counterparts and local cross-functional collaborations within a dedicated project.
• Provide designs to ensure product functionality and performance; take over competence from global engineering team
• Conduct & evaluate appropriate experiments to solve engineering problems of all levels of complexity;
• Providing technical support for purchasing and production regarding tooling, part and process release;
• Communicating with customer and supplier regarding technical topics;
• Create and maintain technical documentation;
• Creating BOM and following up of engineer changes.
• Participate design review process and work with engineering staff to apply lessons learning into new designs.
• Support acquisitions for Chinese and potentially Japanese customers
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or above, major in Mechanical Engineering or similar;
• Good interpersonal skills; ready to work in intercultural circumstance, flexible;
• Fluent English both in oral and written; Japanese beneficial
• Strong communication skills towards customer and suppliers
• 5 years plus related working experience in mechanical engineering, at least 3 years mechanical design experience, 2~3 years optical-mechanical design experience preferred;
• Familiar with development process and tools used in design such as FMEA, DFMA, definition of supplier specification etc.;
• Familiar with GDT/GPS and tolerance analysis;
• Good understanding of injection and stamping parts & manufacturing process principles and disciplines;
• Skilled in CAD software, Catia V5 or NX UG experience;
• Familiar with prototyping methods and assembly processes.
