Our tax practice revolves around helping our clients effectively manage their tax obligations proactively and responsibly. As part of a global team of 35,000 tax professionals in 150 countries, you will advise clients on planning, compliance and reporting wherever the client has needs. Groups (or, as we call them – sub-service lines) within Tax include Business Tax Services, Global Compliance and Reporting, Human Capital, Indirect Tax Services, International Tax Services and Transaction Tax Services.

Join our integrated global network of international tax professionals who help clients manage business tax responsibilities including managing global tax risks and meeting cross-border obligations. Our multidisciplinary teams cover everything from managing global operational changes and transactions, capitalization and repatriation issues, transfer pricing and the client’s supply chain — from forward planning, through reporting, to maintaining effective relationships with the tax authorities.

Responsibilities:

Your key responsibilities

As a member of the US Tax Services in International Tax department, you'll make technical contributions to US tax compliance and tax advisory engagements.

• High level management of the successful delivery of technically complex and demanding consulting projects, ensuring technical excellence and practical/business driven approach taken
• Overall responsibility of quality of client service
• Manage possible leads from other areas of the practice
• Build networks and relationships internally and externally for the team to leverage from
• Help people to develop through effectively supervising, coaching and mentoring staff
• Contribute to people initiatives, including retaining and training international tax professionals
• Significant involvement in the management of the team both in terms of strategy and operations and also through managing junior staff development and assignments

Requirements:

To qualify for the role you must have

• Strong working knowledge of US corporate income tax concepts (e.g. US corporate federal income tax and international tax).
• Good understanding of the US tax reform and its implications to foreign investors
• Experience working in US corporate income tax groups of an accounting firm (Big Four preferred)
• Experience working on cross border transactions (tax due diligence or structuring)
• Excellent communicator in a range of situations both written and oral, in English and Chinese
• Strong client relationship management skills with ability to develop quality outputs to clients
• Negotiation skills, able to sustain opinion and handle challenges
• Business development skills, able to identify and convert opportunities to sell work
• Effective time management, ability to remain calm when under pressure to meet deadlines
• Enthusiastic team player with ability to create, sustain and lead effective teams
• Experience of coaching and developing more junior staff
• Ensure delivery of quality work and take day to day leadership of delivery team
• Change orientated with flexible approach
