职位描述

GENERAL PURPOSE
This position is responsible for effectively leading, developing and managing the buying team in performing all aspects of procurement and inventory control for Asia Pacific. This includes the following: supplier qualification, negotiation, planning, buying, vendor performance monitoring, and vendor relations to support all divisions of Milestone. This position is responsible for balancing inventory levels with ship to promise performance as well as control costs that go to direct costs of goods.

DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

Planning:
? Develop and monitor effectiveness of tools and guidelines for buyer procurement decisions including sourcing, negotiation, and new vendor qualification.
? Develop and monitor effectiveness of tools for supplier visibility including forecasts as well as company specifications and guidelines for supplier compliance.
? Document all processes, procedures, and training materials as needed/required.
? Act as primary point-of-contact for buying team in communicating defined expectations or to assist with escalated problem resolution.
? Provide input to management team regarding departmental needs and/or resolution of escalated problems.
? Assist with maintenance of metrics associated with supply planning activities.
? Identify and implement cost reduction opportunities.
? Lead and manage projects as well as represent buying team on other cross-functional teams including coordinating forecasting meetings to support Shenzhen and Hong Kong companies.

Management:
? Develop and implement department or company goals, objectives, policies and procedures; analyze and recommend strategies to improve effectiveness of operation; evaluate reports, decisions, and results of department in relation to established goals.
? Assist in the completion of department budget, analysis and administration; monitor expenditures; approve invoices and purchases as required.
? Maintain knowledge of industry including knowledge of raw material market changes that will impact costs.
? Plan, assign, and manage the work of others. Monitor workloads; provide or arrange for back-up/additional resources as needed.
? Responsible for all aspects of performance management including interviewing, training, performance evaluations, corrective action plans and recognition for direct reports.
? Provide effective, constructive and appropriate feedback and leadership to direct reports to foster positive, team atmosphere.
? Ensure personal and professional development of direct reports. Provide necessary training or develop the support, skill set and competencies needed for all direct reports.
? Consistently support compliance by maintaining the privacy and confidentiality of information, protecting the assets of the organization, acting with ethics and integrity, reporting non-compliance, and adhering to applicable laws and regulations
? Understand workplace hazards and take steps to proactively prevent and report hazards or injuries in the workplace. Cooperate in safety programs, initiatives, and investigations

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Essential Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
? Demonstrated ability working with minimal supervision and exercising judgment in developing and implementing strategies for results.
? Self-starter with the ability to manage to tight timelines.
? Positive, energetic attitude and initiative; strong work ethic.
? Strong written and oral communication skills (English and Mandarin) with the ability to effectively tailor conversations with staff of varying experience and management levels to convey the process, expectations, and needs.
? Ability to work in a team environment, and leverage additional resources as needed.
? Ability to demonstrate flexible and efficient time management and to appropriately prioritize workload based upon organization or department needs.
? Ability to multi-task and manage several projects through completion at one time; while providing high attention to details.
? Developed problem analysis and problem solving skills.
? Proficient with negotiating and sourcing commodities.
? Basic understanding of Manufacturing processes such as stamping, die casting, injection molding, and extrusion
? Proficient in the use of personal computers, internet and Microsoft Office suite of software including Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook (or related e-mail system).

Minimum Education and Experience Required:
? Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of five (5) years progressive purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment; with at least three (3) years purchasing manager experience in other multinational company under English speaking atmosphere.
? Comprehensive SAP system knowledge and experience
? Advanced knowledge of SAP-based software systems
? Demonstrated experience in cross-functional teams

Special Job Requirements:
? Must be available for long, varied work hours at times.

Preferred Qualifications:
? Degree with emphasis in inventory and purchasing/materials management
? Advanced knowledge of Inventory Management
? Worked in US base multinational company.

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS
? While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required (for the majority of the working day) to sit and make coordinated movements of the fingers for data entry on a keyboard.
? Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
? General office environment, Manufactures visit
? Regular ground travel to suppliers within China
? May require regular ground travel to other company facilities within local metropolitan area
? Long-distance or air travel as needed – not to exceed 25% travel
