Purpose of the role:
The Safety Engineer under SHERQ Compliance owns the Supply Chain SHERQ compliance process. His responsibilities include managing and continuously improving SHERQ and compliance in the supply chain and advise site logistics on EHS issues involving transport and transportation contractors. The scope of the work is WITHIN supply chain funtion of the SBU Chemicals WITH the overall objective to contribute to minimise transportation risks.
Responsibilities:
1) SHERQ Plan Development and SHERQ Monitoring
Develop and implement the Supply Chain Annual SHERQ plan, monitor SHERQ performance of Supply chain subcontractors, perform transportation risk assessment, support/take lead in incident investigation, initiate, define and implement (long term) improvement actions, and develop and implement best practices to support effective transport safety management within supply chain logistics IN ORDER TO minimize business risks associated with transport.
2) Continuous Improvement of Logistics Quality
Monitor and support complaint analysis, initiate, define and implement long-term SHERQ actions and develop and implement a supply chain procedure audit system IN ORDER TO monitor SHERQ
compliance.
3) Policy Development and Legislation
Monitor national and international legislation and external developments in the field of transport safety IN ORDER TO judge the relevance for SABIC and to stay compliant.
4)Delivery, Consultancy and Challenge
Advise and challenge SABIC management in the field of transport safety and compliance, advise and challenge senior management with respect to the implementation and compliance of legislation to ensure the license to distribute and develop and introduce tools and programs to improve transport safety IN ORDER TO ensure compliance in the entire Supply Chain.
Qualifications & Requirements:
* College Degree, preferably in Chemical Engineering, Logistics Management, Transportation Safety.
* Logistics safety knowledge and knowledge of the business processes order to cash, material handling and warehouse management.
