Your tasks:

1. Technical Expert Acts as key-technical contact for customers, the segment’s business development and the sales teams in terms of OEM products, product development or applications. Intimately supports the introduction of new productions into the production lines of the segments customers. Ensures timely feedback to production on quality or performance issues of current products. Suggests and initiates necessary development measures for technology and product improvements. Maintains network with other experts inside and outside the company in accordance with the rules of SCHOTT’s Code of Conduct. Negotiates customer specifications at eye level and represents the New Venture in expert committees for engineering standards in industry. Acts as owner of the specifications for certain products. Supervises the preparation of requirements specifications in corporation with product managers.
2. Inquiries/Sales Manages and supervises feasibility studies in corporation with production and supply chain management. Clarifies technical questions in contacting Technical Centers (esp. with the wafer line of the New Venture Augmented Reality in Suzhou/China), Supply Chain Management and Purchasing. Proposes technical solutions. Manages and supervises the preparation of cost estimates for quotations. Conducts technical negotiations with customers under consideration of the economic objectives of the respective product. Approves internal and external changes in product specifications and / or production processes, materials, and suppliers. Leads or participates in projects on the basis of customer inquiries. Conducts competition analyses, including benchmarking of products and technologies.
3. Supervision and Project Management Leads, and motivates the members of the technical project teams within his/her area of responsibility. Is in charge of project management of dedicated development or metrology projects.
4. Supporting Tasks incl. technical trainings Provides technical information for communication and training purposes and keeps them up to date. Trains sales teams concerning new products, applications and technologies. Coordinates the production of prototypes for customers and trade shows. Supports Quality Department in solving internal and external complaints. Supports global or regional product strategy. Supports, together with subordinate employees, the SBFs in the preparation and implementation of the product roadmap. Submits suggestions for the annual R&D planning. Supports the design and creation of processes in accordance with Lean Management.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Your profile:

Min. of 5 years of vocational experience in Technical Sales or Application Engineering or Optical Engineering.

Good command of the English and Chinese (Mandarin) language. Ability and willingness to work in a dynamic organization and business environmental. Working experience in an international, intercultural context. Excellent understanding of optics a/o processing of optical or semiconductor materials and the use of optical components in optoelectronic modules. Strong project management skills.
