Description of the role

Responsible for new concept mechanical design and release LED lighting fixtures. Need to work for project team to meet the goals including time to market, quality and cost. Be responsible for mechanical technical solutions and deliverables.

Job requirements

- Responsible for luminaries mechanical design and give innovative solutions for product development;
- Work for R&D team leader through all phases of the product development process to meet project goals including time to market, project quality and financial target;
- Responsible for technical documents, tooling review , approval and management;
- Take the technical ownership to support internal/external customer and production;
- Develop mechanical design solution to enable new product development, OEM product validation and support existing products sustaining;
- Develop and maintain a valuable network with internal and external partners;
- Benchmark new solutions from competitors and suppliers;
Do thermal modelling and simulation and thermal optimization.
- Select right materials (plastics, metal, glass, ceramic, and etc.): knowledgeable on material properties, manufacture process. And co-work with material engineer do material release on product level.
- Lead junior engineers on technical issues, problem solving strategies, and engineering principles.
- Defining test plan and test set-ups. Monitor and guide test engineers on test planning, test and reporting.

Qualifications

- Bachelor or Master degree in Mechanical Engineering, 10+ years’ working experience in lighting fixture design as development leader, related lighting factory background and familiar with US standard/market request;
- Good understanding in Mechanics of material, process, tooling and finishing;
- Experience in design US indoor fixture will be a plus;
- Experience in CAD software and 3D design tools like Solidworks, ProE;
- Knowledge on thermal analysis and stress analysis;
- Strong communication and coordination skills, working under pressure;
- Proof of statistical engineering experience and design for reliability. DFSS GB/BB is an advantage.
- Capable to communicate with suppliers for technical, manufacturing and cost issues.
- Good presentation skills for reporting project status & conducting design reviews.
- Complex problem solving skills by evaluating options and implementing solutions.
- Self-motivated, independent with Can-Do attitude. Be able to work in a fast paced, team oriented, result oriented product development environment.
- Fluent in English (writing and reading).
