Position Description:


The pricing team within the Group Personal Insurance organization provides actuarial rate reviews and other analytical support associated with product reviews, product development, new business opportunities, profitability analysis, and client reviews. This group leverages internal and external data, along with classical actuarial techniques and predictive modeling to support its mission.

The Senior Actuary is responsible for such work, with a primary focus on China Individual Travel. Other work supporting countries throughout the Greater China & Australasia and Southeast Asia geographies may also be required. The Senior Actuary is expected to become an expert regarding AIG China’s Individual Travel business, including major accounts, key products, key distribution channels and producers, and market trends.

Primary Responsibilities:

? Conduct periodic rate reviews and profitability analysis on the China individual travel products
? Leverage internal and external data to support predictive modeling on the China individual travel products
? Lead pricing development and profitability analysis for new business deals within the China individual travel space
? Calculate the marketing allowable for direct marketing of individual travel products in China
? Communicate rate requirements and profitability analysis to senior management both within AIG China and within the broader AIG Group Personal Insurance organization
? Support other Group Personal Insurance pricing initiatives throughout Greater China & Australasia and Southeast Asia as necessary
? Support rate filings for China Individual Travel
? Provide training to local underwriters
? Become a subject matter expert for the China Individual Travel portfolio



 Position Requirements:
? Fluency in English and Mandarin, both written and spoken, including being able to read and write complex insurance terms in Mandarin; Cantonese is a plus
? Fellow of the Society of Actuaries, Institute of Actuaries, Casualty Actuarial Society, or actuarial society
? 10-15 years of actuarial experience supporting travel, accident & health, or other short-term consumer products
? 5-7 years of experience in a pricing role supporting travel products
? Predictive modeling experience, including R, Emblem, SPSS, or other statistical software
? SAS experience is a plus
? Ability to manage stakeholders, build relationships with key business partners, and function effectively in a dynamic and complex organization
? Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem solving skills, and an ability to work both independently and as part of a team
? Strong business and collaboration skills; responsive to service needs and operational demands
? Effective time management skills
