Purpose of the Position:
Manages large, high visibility projects for Corning Shared Services in support of Functional project portfolio.
Projects include cost reductions, process improvements, SAP deployments, Shared Service integrations, Finance system upgrades, business process design and new functional process/technology introductions.
May need to manage multiple smaller scope projects depending on project portfolio and business needs
Create project charters, project plans, resource plans, cost estimates
Manage project resources to achieve project deliverables
Provide project status to the superior

Escalate & manage issues to proper level to reach resolution
Document and track activities, scope changes and lessons learned
Assess project status and adjust project plan to ensure timeline, budget and deliverables are met.

Education & Experience:
Bachelors Degree with Accounting or finance management is preferred

Desired Skills:
Understanding of Shared Services Operations
Understanding of Corning Functional processes

Functional understanding of Oracle and/or SAP systems
Green Belt certification
Problem Solving and Analytical skills

Soft Skills :
Excellent written and oral presentation skills needed to brief high level management
Leadership skills to engage business leadership and leverage talent in a matrix organization (strong ability to influence others and work co-operatively)
Sense of urgency (self starter) and creativity to handle project issues and adapt plan to meet objectives
Flexibility to adapt to changing environment; be a change agent to help others through change
Cross-cultural Sensitivity
