Title: Value Engineer
Department: AP
Reports to: Asia Pacific VAVE Director
Work Location: China
GENERAL PURPOSE
This position is responsible in supporting Milestone’s efforts in Asia to engage with suppliers using Value Analysis/Value Engineering and other improvement techniques to assess the design and manufacturing processes of current products in order to achieve significant product cost reduction.
DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
Collaborates with US counterparts and drive the process to develop and execute plans for cost improvement of current products sourced in Asia.
1. Duties include carry out the feasibility of saving assessment especially for the top spend of Product/SKUs improvement idea, components and manufacturing process alternative solutions.
2. Prepare Power Point to roundup all cost reduction information and then follow by Gate review meeting presentation.
3. Engineering support to Project Management for driving implementation of cost reduction projects that are handed off to PM
4. Develops and regularly updates pipeline of product cost reduction opportunities.
5. Works with engineering, Sourcing and Supplier Development Engineering along with senior engineering counterparts at supplier sites to develop and standardize cost reduction process for current products.
6. Demonstrate our five core values of Integrity, Customer Responsiveness, Innovation, Passionate Contribution & Empowerment and Continuous Improvement
7. Understand workplace hazards and take steps to proactively prevent and report hazards or injuries in the workplace. Cooperate in safety programs, initiatives, and investigations.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
Essential Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
1. Familiar with mechanical design standards and able to use Solid Work.
2. Ability to think broadly and strategically.
3. Can be the core team player to lead the project team towards the saving goal.
4. In depth knowledge of stamping, welding, casting processes and I.E skill (assembly).
5. Strong communication skills & excellent working knowledge in Power Point presentation.
6. Knowledge of Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.
7. In depth knowledge of Value Analysis/Value Engineering processes.
8. Project management skills.
9. Fluent English understanding, speaking and writing.
Minimum Education and Experience Required:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar field.
2. 10+ year of VAVE experience which includes at least 3 years of design experience.
Special Job Requirements:
? Requires frequent availability and communication during non-standard business hours to communicate with global team members
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS
1. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required (for the majority of the working day) to sit and make coordinated movements of the fingers for data entry on a keyboard.
2. Ability to lift up to 30 pounds
3. General office environment
4. May require regular ground travel to other company facilities – approximately 30% of the time
5. Long-distance or air travel as needed.
