Responsibilities:
Key Accountabilities:
·Work with the Central Retail China Marketing team to develop Convenience and Marketing Strategy for the Joint Venture
·Work with the Operations team to deliver non fuels sales and gross margin targets
·Develop and Implement Customer Service programmes to enhance differentiation of the brand
·Implement a fuels strategy to capture incremental gross margin from the category
·Develop commercially and customer focused category trading plans and set strategic direction through informed use of market, customer, financial and economic data
·Set and shape category targets; maximize and manage category financial performance
·Develop buying and sourcing strategies appropriate and relevant to category/service.
·Lead supplier and or wholesaler performance management, review and improvement initiatives.
·Manage supply chain strategy and relationships including safe and reliable management of a Distribution Centre
·Develop contracts and deals that maximize profitability and provide contractual coverage for all products and or services.
·Build and develop key supplier and wholesaler relationships and relationships with internal interfaces.
·Direct and approve ranging, assortments and programs
·Set promotional strategy; review and approve promotional plans and customer communication
·Develop new store layouts and co-ordinate new store merchandising
·Implement brand visual standards, and administer the consistent usage across the entire network
·Budget setting and ongoing reporting through scorecard. Takes appropriate action without being prompted
·Capabilities -drives enhanced performance from their team and puts corrective action in place where appropriate
·Ensures succession plan in place for their team so as to drive continuity of the business
·Assure compliance with BP's code of conduct in all buying & sourcing activities
Key challenges -
·Work with JV Managers , key secondees from two parent companys and Chinese Partners in JV environment
·Influence JV partners in a minority JV
·Apply bp standards in a challenging developing country.
·Balance different interests of partners to maximize bp interests.
·Expedite the implementation of management process in a fast growth environment
·Manage and deliver performance in a violent and a irregular environment
·Media responsibility to prevent brand reputation
·Develop people to meet growth agenda
Requirements:
·University degree, MBA is preferred
·Able to communicate in English both on speaking and writing
·Min. 8 years relevant experience, 5+ years in supervisory or managerial positions; JV management experience would be highly regarded
·Sound knowledge of retail business or FMCG Marketing
