eLearning Audio Producer

Overall Objective

The role of the Audio Producer is to deliver high quality audio for English learning materials, taking into account project requirements, academic criteria and the schedule. He / she will ensure overall audio quality by setting recording guidelines and making technical and equipment recommendations.



Job Description and Responsibilities

1 Delivering Audio Content

· using industry-standard software packages to record and edit audio

· casting voice talent (internal and external resources) according to project requirements

· coaching voice artists to produce high quality, natural-sounding dialogs and speeches

· mixing audio tracks and adding sound effects to scripted dialogs



2 Project Management

· coordinating with voice artists to schedule recording time

· estimating production time required for specific projects

· working with the Production & Project Manager to ensure that projects are completed on schedule and according to budget


3 Quality Assurance

· setting quality guidelines for audio production

· setting up soundroom equipment to ensure optimal recording quality

· training and supervising other soundroom users

· working with content editors to set guidelines for script-writing

· working with editors and product owners to determine audio requirements

· reviewing and approving scripts before recording

· staying up to date with industry trends to improve quality and efficiency

· developing templates for scripts and audio requests (e.g. specifying file format, effects, accents)


Requirements

· Familiar with soundroom equipment and editing software (Protools, Soundtrack Pro, etc.)

· competent on PC and Mac

· experience with audio recording and mixing

· good organization and project management skills

· attention to detail and commitment to meeting deadlines

· strong communication skills and the ability to work in a team

· have excellent English ability (native / near native speakers preferred)

· teaching experience (especially in ESL / EFL)

· knowledge of English pronunciation and phonology is an advantage

· a background in drama and acting is a plus
