Essential duties and responsibilities:

1. Deployment, Configuration of WebSphere Application Server on UNIX environment

2. Managing and maintaining WAS servers.

3. Architect, install, configure, tune and deploy WAS in a non-clustered and clustered, J2EE environment, with Load Balancers for failover and High Availability (HA)

4. Architecting and implementing disaster recovery environment

5. Installing, patching and maintaining WAS servers on AIX and Windows.

6. Deploying J2EE applications to WAS application servers in various formats including AR, WAR and JAR files

7. Manage Java Virtual Machine (JVM) settings and options like class path, heap size and other system settings

8. Manage and configure database connections, through JDBC data-sources/JDBC pools

9. Maintain server configurations and analyze and maintain log files

10. Analyze and modify performance settings to improve operational performance

11. Troubleshoot issues related to the Middleware Application server or underlying technology stack

12. Coordinates activities within application and infrastructure teams and Willingness to participate in a rotating on-call schedule with other team members

Required qualifications:

1. 4+ years of demonstrated experience in administering WebSphere Application Server on UNIX environment, managing the WAS environment.

2. Excellent Proficiency in English reading, writing and speaking.

3. Experience in working in a 24X7 environments and on-call support.

4. Strong interpersonal skills.

5. Strong written and verbal communication skills.

6. Strong Team Player with ability to deliver individual.
