Mission

  • Servier BioInnovation is a joint initiative between Servier Group R&D and Global Business Development for external innovation. Our team is responsible for increasing the group’s visibility, attracting talent and establishing research and development partnerships through targeted representation in the world’s top life science and biomedical innovation centers. We are focused on identifying new early-stage R&D opportunities and expediting business development and licensing activities in the U.S and Asia.
  • Our key stakeholders include world-class academic researchers, technology transfer and development offices, non-profit foundations and patient advocacy organizations, company builders, venture capitalists and strategic biotechnology and pharma partners.


Tasks and responsibilities:

The BD manager will be responsible to enrich the Group’s pipeline through strategic partnership, acquisition, licensing/co-development and other key strategic initiatives.

  • Identify, evaluate, and lead business development projects collectively according to SBI Asia and Servier China business growth strategy;
  • Evaluate market opportunity and build business case for new products and technologies within the scope of Group focus area;
  • Identify and develop strategic partnerships according to the strategic business needs;
  • Conduct market research and run financial modelling / valuation for potential targets for partnering or acquisition;
  • Contribute to China Country Roadmap from the Innovative perspective


The BD manager will manage the operations of the Servier BioInnovation Asia office in Beijing, China; serve as liaison to internal and external stakeholders to promote Servier BioInnovation and Servier Group activities; and support the Business Development and External Innovation mission and activities of Servier BioInnovation in Asia, including but not limited to:

  • Support event planning and execution related to Servier BioInnovation Asia activities, e.g. BIO, Partnering Days/Innovation Days, seminar/conference sponsorships, and speaking engagements, etc.
  • Serve as Communication liaison to both internal and external stakeholders, e.g. support in preparing summaries, reports, newsletters, Servier BioInnovation website Asia related updates, press releases, social media (e.g. WeChat), photos, etc.
  • Archive and updates of the Servier BioInnovation Asia documents and information such as CDAs/NDAs, meeting minutes, reports, organizational chart, contact list, etc


  • Coordination and scheduling of internal and external meetings, HQ business review and visiting events, and those related logistics including agenda, venue preparation, hosting& greeting, escort and materials, etc.
  • Coordination of Servier BioInnovation interactions and communication with Servier headquarters (e.g. R&D, BD, Legal, Scouts), subsidiaries in Asia, and the Servier BioInnovation global network (e.g. Cambridge, MA, USA office, BD & Scouts in France, etc.)
  • Coordinate with different department with local entities including Servier China Subsidiary, Tianjin Plant and ICTR on the corresponding supporting and relevant information exchange, continuously improves and keeps updates the Servier BioInnovation Asia being alert on any changes within corporate or within local entities.


  • General office support including purchasing request and payment, and operations, etc.


Profile and qualification:

  • Bachelor or master degree in Medicine or Science or Pharmaceutical relevant major from a top university; MBA is a plus
  • At least 5 years of work experience in business development, management consulting or investment banking, preferably in healthcare industry
  • Professional working proficiency or full professional working proficiency in English
  • Strong analytical skills with ability to synthesize information and generate insights
  • Proficient in financial modeling and valuation methods
  • Collaborative team player with ability to adapt to rapidly changing environments.
  • Proactive with the ability to take the initiative and propose solutions.
  • Displays a sense of urgency and delivers solutions with respect to deadlines.
  • Adaptable to new ad-hoc assignment and duties.
  • Commitment to confidentiality and business-sensitive information.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and people skills.
