Responsibilities

1. Support the resolution of assigned China trade issues.  help implement corrective actions.  This often requires working with other Applied Materials China departments and groups located outside China. 
2. Provide technical guidance to various internal stakeholders regarding China import and export requirements.  
3. Act as SAP Spares SME and problem solver to facilitate investigate of business/transaction flow and analysis issues.
4. Help oversee export and import license compliance, ensuring Applied Materials China is in compliance with the regulatory and license requirements of the issuing countries (especially US requirements).
5. Support various trade compliance and process improvement activities.  This may require researching regulations, benchmarking other companies, working with consultants, attending seminars and working with internal stakeholders.
6. Participate in risk assessments, recommend solutions and implement assigned corrective actions.  This often requires working with other Applied Materials China departments and groups located outside China. 
7. Help implement new programs for routinely monitoring compliance with regulations, policies and procedures.  Help report and track corrective actions. 
8. Support government, internal and other trade compliance audits.  Help Trade Manager meet audit requirements and ensure accurate information is provided.    
9. Support the setup of new customers, facilities, warehouses, repair centers, supply chains (including reverse supply chains), permits/licenses, etc.   

 

Qualifications

1. 2-3 years related work experience in China import/export or logistics for a global company.  
2. Experience working with US export controls and licenses is highly preferred.   Also preferred is experience with SAP GTS or SAP.   
3. Demonstrated ability to solve common China specific import and export problems.   In-depth knowledge of customs and related processes requirements and processes is required.  
4. Proven ability to work well with people at various levels.  Ability to manage multiple projects at the same time. Self-motivated, result-oriented and able to work independently.
5. Must have strong English and Chinese speaking and writing skills. 
6. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent. 
7. Ability to travel up to 20%.
8. Proficient with Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Visio.
