Medical Science Liaison (MSL)

Key Responsibilities of Role

The MSL represents the Medical Affairs function in the field, to foster collaborative relationships with external customers including Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) and other experts, and to facilitate the exchange of unbiased scientific information concerning Circassia’s products between the medical society and Circassia China. Main responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

· Establish long-term, peer-to-peer relationships with local/regional/national KOLs, HCPs and managed care organisations, and deliver quality interactions and services that bring value to physicians, and that are aligned with Circassia strategies

· Contribute to the development of, and implementation of the tactical / field medical plans in collaboration with the Associate Medical Director.

· Development and execution of a regional KOL engagement plan in line with medical strategy, and identify opportunities for collaborations between the company and KOLs in order to support overall brand strategy.

· Identify, develop and provide support to speakers on the development of materials, and work with Associate Medical Director on knowledge exchange strategies including preparation of presentations and scientific papers

· Provide internal scientific support through the provision of therapeutic and scientific training, and support the market access team during discussions with payers by provision of scientific information

· Serve as a medical resource for the sales representatives and accurately answer any medical questions they may have to help them utilise their approved materials and to help them understand therapeutic issues for their background use.

• Respond to unsolicited questions from HCPs in accordance with local laws, regulations and codes and Circassia SOPs. In addition, to keep HCPs/KOLs up to date with scientific data, publications and guidelines.

Specific / Other responsibilities will include:

· Obtain feedback and advice about Circassia products from KOLs and other external customers through 1 on 1 interactions, advisory boards or medical meetings.

· Maintain cross-functional collaboration with internal teams: Marketing, Sales, Regulatory, Legal.

· Responsible for establishing the regional medical plan(s) and design medical initiatives, consistent with the Global and country medical strategy and regional medical needs.

· Provide medical insight and support for regional market/sales activities as appropriate accordance with all local and regional guidelines.

· Provision of onsite support to regional and national level conferences.

• Keep up-to-date knowledge of product application and competitor data

Qualifications and/or experience required to perform the role

· Advanced Clinical/Science degrees preferred e.g. MSc, PhD, PharmD, MD. Basic Health Science degree with relevant experience will be considered.

· Minimum 3 years work experience in a pharmaceutical, biotechnology or medical device industry. Alternatively, at least one year working experience as a medical practitioner in a clinical setting (bachelor degree of clinical medicine plus master degree or above).

· Previous experience in a multinational company preferable.

· [For senior MSL, minimum 2 prior years MSL experience with a track record of success in multinational pharmaceutical company are required]

· Proficient in written business and spoken English.

· Strong interpersonal, presentation and organisation skills.
