Laboratory Technician Job Description

Specific job duties include:

Read protocols and plan for testing and equipment needs in advance. Schedule, prepare, and obtain necessary equipment and filters (well in advance) to conduct the test in a timely fashion.

Perform validation tests as scheduled weekly and write corresponding deliverables

Obtain all required clarification from the VPC immediately.

Make raw data entries and observations immediately and correctly. Insure the accuracy and completeness of data packages.

Forward the completed data packages to the lab supervisor or the dedicated person in a timely fashion

Make recommendations on laboratory improvements, preparation exercises, and equipment as needed. Make suggestions to improve test efficiency and process efficiency.

Initiate aberrant results investigation procedure as required.

Clean test equipment, workbench, and hoods after tests.

Import viability data into templates and store in the designated file.

Raw data reviewing and protocol and report writing

Conduct required calibrations and maintain calibration records.

Maintaining cleanliness and safe practices in the laboratory

Using all required personal protective equipment

Following all safety training

Insuring that MSDS sheets are reviewed by all working on assigned projects.

Maintaining training records, keeping up to date and filing proof of all training immediately

Rereading SOPs on an annual basis

Cleaning work area and storing equipment by the end of each day

Communication of needs and project status to other laboratory members

Maintaining cleanliness of an assigned area of the laboratory

Knowledge/Skills/Experience Requirements

Education: Bachelor of Science, chemical or biotech.

Intermediate level position requires understanding of the general and technical aspects of the job.

Works under general supervision, with some instruction given for routine work and detailed instructions for new types of work or special projects.

Can communicate in English.

Working experience: more than1 year experience in laboratory is better.
