Job Title: Supplier Quality Engineer

Department: Quality Control

Position Overview

The Supplier Quality Engineer ensures quality control and continuous production of Electric Mirror products built from suppliers and or contract manufactures (consistent with established standards, customer specifications and production goals). The Supplier Quality Engineer ensures suppliers and contract manufactures deliver product consistent in design, performance and product specifications.

Essential Job Functions

· Ensure a high level of internal and external customer service. Investigate (and correct) customer (Internal/external) issues and complaints relating to quality.

· Provides technical and statistical expertise.

· Ensures product meets expectations with use of drawings, product specification and test procedures

· Audits new or existing suppliers and or contract manufactures

· Formulates, documents and maintains quality control standards in continuous improvement environment.

· Create, document and implement inspection criteria and procedures.

· Provides and oversees inspection activity for product throughout production & supplier cycle.

· Apply total quality management tools and approaches to analytical and reporting processes.

· Maintains quality of goods to ensure quality of all purchased parts.

· Create and directs environmental test functions and applications.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position is an individual contributor role that will report to the Asia Quality Improvement Manager.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment and in Asia manufacturing environment alternatively. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in a production environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud and safety precautions are necessary.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10-pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50-pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Hours of work are Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week, but not limited to min. 40 hours per week.

Travel

Travel is expected for this position to and from suppliers and contract manufacturers, and or customers for service calls.

Required Education and Experience

· B.S. degree or equivalent experience/education combination.

· Supplier Quality and or Supplier Selection experience

· Knowledge of implementing and managing quality management systems

Preferred Education and Experience

Product-related knowledge and experience.

Languages (English/Mandarin) reading, writing & communication
