As a Micro-grid and Distribution Generation Business Development Manager, you will be part of the Power Grid (PG) Division and Grid Automation Business Units (BU) based in Beijing. ABB is World’s No.1 in Power Products Business and the product manufactured becomes the key components to transmit and distribute electricity. The division incorporates ABB’s manufacturing network for Transformers, Switchgear, Circuit Breakers, Cables and associated equipment. It also offers all the services needed to ensure products’ performance and extend their lifespan.


Your Tasks as a Micro-grid and Distribution Generation Business Development Manager will include the following:

? Strategy support and planning: Contributes to micro-grid, distributed generation and BESS business strategy definition and execution through the analysis and identification of new markets, segments and/or product solutions. Analyzes customer needs for the portfolio, securing customer advantages and benefits as well as white spot analysis and connected strategies to penetrate the market. Develops and implements business strategies for newly defined areas in alignment with the micro-grid, distributed generation and BESS business strategy.

? Market analysis: Provides market intelligence analyses in support of identification and development of new markets, segments or solutions. Participates in internal work groups in order to share know-how, processes and market information.

? Sales and marketing:
1. Identifies, leads or contributes to identification and acquisition opportunities to expand into the newly defined area. Collaborates with all related internal contacts to ensure alignment, efficiency and effectiveness in the implementation of the commercial strategy.
2. To increase ABB’s visibility and reputation in this area. Prepare commercial & technical offer Technical clarification and cost justification. Monitor supplier’s commercial & technical proposal. Project pre-calculation sheet preparation.
3. Risk review document preparation with sales.
4. Prepare the project transfer document to transfer the project to the operation team.

? Product marketing: Coordinates product marketing launch development plans and ensures efficient and effective execution together with the Area and local product group manager.

? Partnerships: Identifies partnership opportunities and participates in the definition of partnerships agreements together with local Business Unit/Product Group.

? Customer relations: Participates in planning and implementation of customer events and trade shows.

? Performance targets: Ensures budget (volumes) and profitable growth targets are achieved in the respective countries. Ensures achievement of targets on orders, net price variance (NPV), Net Promoter Score (NPS), etc.


? Bachelor or above, with technical background of electrical engineering, or related field.
? Minimum of 5 years of experience in the field of energy storage, renewables, micro-grid or distributed generation.
? Ability to understand customer needs and sell the value of ABB solution to the customer
? Availability to travel domestic and oversea.
? Knowledge of related engineering tools and software required to accomplish his task (AutoCad, Office 365).
? Good communication, Critical thinking and analytical skills.
? Must be precise, organized, flexible & autonomous.
? Result oriented, independent and flexible having the commitment to the business.
? International culture awareness, ability to communicate and collaborate within global team and with international partners.
