职位描述
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
The prime responsibility of the supervisor is to manage and lead a group of either day based tradesman and trainees or shift and day based tradesman, in maintaining and modifying plant to effect both efficient resource usage and quality service according to planned/crash work programs; giving priority to safety and environment impact, and effecting plant reliability / efficiency.
Related responsibilities include:
Subordinate's health and safety
Subordinate's management, including welfare, appraisals and training
Effective and efficient use of Mechanical resource
Customer satisfaction, through timely completion of planned work and rapid rectification of operational related downing events.
Other key responsibilities are to:
Ensure maintenance-based activities are in line with standards and meet Chinese legislative requirements.
Work with other departments, e.g. Electrical and Instrument departments, to set the strategies and improvement goals for the Maintenance's defined area of responsibility.
Organized shut down activities.
Ensure appropriate appraisals are completed in a timely manner and that a professional development plan exists for subordinates.
"Represent" outside of working hours.
1. Safety and Health Performance Standards
Promote safety as No 1 priority and ensure safety is put before production.
Help to develop a department safety program each year within the guidelines provided by the Safety Department. Hold monthly safety meetings and ensure a minimum attendance of 85% is achieved by all subordinates.
Ensure all subordinates receive the safety training required to do their jobs as stipulated by standards or China legislation.
Ensure relevant Corporate and ZJG Site Safety Standards are followed.
Ensure relevant IH and COSHH standards are followed.
Ensure housekeeping is maintained at an excellent standard and that regular department audits are carried out to monitor this.
Ensure any incidents are reported immediately as defined in the safety standards.
Carry out investigations of site incidents as requested by the Site Manager or Site Safety Manager.
Respond to external and internal audits as required and ensure follow-up corrective actions are completed by agreed dates
Other Performance Standards
(a) Administrative
Complete subordinate appraisals by end of January each year.
Ensure relevant site policies are communicated and followed.
Hold regular subordinate meetings (preferably once/month) to communicate Site and Corporate issues and review department progress, issues and concerns.
Maintain control on absenteeism and timekeeping.
Develop and maintain workshop maintenance information library as appropriate.
(b) People and Organisation
Proactively develop subordinates to meet current and future needs.
Ensure people receive the training they need to do their jobs competently.
Coach / mentor people to maximise and develop their capability for current and future job positions.
Carry out the PIP process each year, including assessment and review of personnel performance at least three times per year, completing annual assessments by February 15th and setting the department salary plan.
(c) Operations
Ensure the unit/department procedures are properly followed
Ensure agreed performance standards are set and achieved.
(d) Quality
Champion the continuous improvement effort within the Mechanical maintenance section.
Hold regular department QIT meetings (or equivalent) to review and encourage quality improvement effort and provide a forum for resolving quality related concerns.
Provide technical support to Capital engineering when appropriate, influencing plant/equipment layout and selection for 'best' life cycle costs and benefit of and unit maintenance.
(e) Costs
Operate the unit within the agreed budgets for fixed and capital expenses (or any agreed variances) as agreed with Maintenance Team Leader.
(f) Environment
Promote a culture of environmental responsibility and waste minimisation within the department.
Ensure the relevant Site, Corporate and China environmental standards are properly understood and followed by all department personnel.
Ensure any unplanned emission or spill of material is reported, investigated and corrective actions are identified and carried out in an appropriate time period.

Achieve personal objectives as agreed each year with the Maintenance Team Leader.
