Consultant/ Junior Consultant – (12 months Fixed Term Contract) Based in Beijing

The founders of the company are both British and Egyptian. Born in Egypt, they grew up in the UK. But even before they were born the link with China was strong. Their father was a senior official in Egypt in the 1960s. Sameh and Samah grew up in a China-friendly home. Later they would turn their passion for China into a successful career.
In 2008, alarmed by the rise of anti-Chinese sentiment ahead of the Olympics, Sameh and Samah recognised that China’s rise in the world caused unique and immense risks to China and Chinese companies for which China was not prepared. Such risks required unique solutions tailored to China’s conditions and the very particular challenges its companies faced abroad and at home. To assist China to deal with these very specific risks, China-i was founded in London, the centre of global communications.
China-i gradually gained a reputation as an advisory firm that helped its Chinese clients achieve success throughout the world using very innovative proprietary approaches to strategic risks such as social risk, reputational, political risks that were based on Chinese values of their clients. This ensured sustainable and success.
In June 2015 to cope with the rapid expansion and growth of our company, the company moved its headquarters to Beijing’s Chang’An Jie to better serve its exclusively Chinese clientele. We are a group of people who believe that China’s arrival in the modern economy will herald the biggest change in global culture since the invention of printing. Main responsibilities:
-Working with the Project Team in order to assist the company leadership to accomplish tasks within a timely manner.
-Meeting with clients to carry out company business
-Translation of written material from Chinese to English and vice versa
-Ability to translate verbally consecutively
-Regular travel within and outside China with possibility with prolonged periods of working outside of China
-Undertaking both project-related and administrative tasks and in relation to the project.
-Processing data, research of materials and reconciliation of records
-Ability to write reports and make presentations in both English and Chinese clearly setting out ideas and arguments

Experience Required:

The nature of our work requires both loyalty and does discretion, qualities which are highly valued by both company and clients. Excellent verbal and written communication skills to create and build relationships. Strong analytical skills and the ability to generate innovative ideas. Ability to build and manage strong relationships with senior executives and a range of other stakeholders important to our company and our clients. Personable, enthusiastic and engaging characters willing to work hard in a self-motivated manner to tight deadlines and sometimes in unstructured environments in clients' premises. An interest in cross-cultural communications and global affairs. Good spoken and written English language. Candidates will need to be highly proactive with good knowledge of Excel, Word, Adobe PDF and other mainstream computer software.
Special attention will be paid to candidates with CSR experience or work at SOEs abroad.
