Purpose

The incumbent will support China-based technology teams across all businesses and shared capabilities, in three key areas: (1) Innovate Tools & Training, (2) Communications and (3) Intelligence Solutions.

Nature and Scope

1. Innovate Tools & Training – 50%
? Assist with training and application of Offering Development and Introduction (ODI) in Asia; provide assistance with ODI templates, impact analyses, and other Innovate tools (Project Resource Management System, Instar, IdeaTracker, Publication Database, Technical Agreements Management System, etc.)
? Assist with all Innovate College related training in Asia and interface with Training Coordinators.

2. Communications – 30%
? Manage communications at the new Shanghai Showcase with external clients.

3. Intelligence Solutions – 20%
? Use Patent Search tools (e.g. PatBase) and Chinese patent sites to search for Chinese language patents
? Manage Knowledge Net (中国知网) account management for the China Lab
? Update list of Chinese library resources
? Conduct internet and related research of public domain information in order to document competitive R&D landscape in China



This position is based in Shanghai, as part of the China Technology team at Zhangjiang Hi-Tech Park, and functionally reports to Director, Innovate Process Center, with regional/administrative reporting to China Technology Manager.

The candidate will have a science and/or engineering background with strong communication skills and experience. Position requires a Science or engineering Bachelors degree, with relevant work or internship experience in R&D, and/or technical training role. Knowledge and experience with software applications is desirable. The position requires excellent inter-personal skills and involves significant interface across multiple functions and regions. This role requires excellent communications skills (written and verbal) and fluency in Chinese and English.



JOB REQUIREMENTS


1. Bachelor degree in Science or Engineering. Work experience in a Knowledge Management or R&D environment is desired; relevant internship experience will be taken into consideration.

2. Communication/Language requirements:
- Excellent English and Chinese (verbal and written communication) language skills

3. Strong interpersonal and organizational skills:
- Ability to work in a multi-cultural and diverse environment
- High personal initiative, motivation and work ethic
- Active internal client interaction skills
- Strong teamwork skills

4. Other desirable attributes:
- Knowledge of multiple IT/software applications that are common in R&D environment
- Industrial or internship work experience, and Asian culture/business practices
