Purpose
The key objective and function of this position is to provide the technical support to qualify, review and audit vendors equipment design for use in Customer Engineering team in Asia, CryoEase team in Asia and including secondary support on Fleet equipment for Distribution team in Asia, meeting Air Products specifications and requirements.
This position will also involved in setting the bench mark and expectations for equipment quality control, interfacing with vendors QC team, tracking non-conformance issues.
This position is also expected to work closely with different business functions, operation team and E&M team to achieve team alignment and drive initiative for Low Cost Sourcing, without compromising on Quality.
Nature and Scope
This position will be based in China, preferably in Eastern region, but not mandatory.
He / She will report to the Team Lead of the Bulk Equipment Team from Customer Engineering Asia.
As this role involved dealing with vendors, this position will require candidate with strong technical foundation on cryogenic pressure vessel design, welding knowledge, good interpersonal skill, high integrity and ability to be mobile 70% of the time.
The scope coverage for his role will include communicating, and auditing vendors that are located out of China, beside the current vendors located in China.
The eye for details, couple with strong analytical skill, problem solving skill and leadership skill is a requirement for this position.
Primary responsibilities are:
? Review existing and vendors equipment design
? Provide repair method statement and supervision of repair work for Liquid Bulk and CryoEase equipment, such as liquid trailers, tube trailers, cryogenic tanks, vaporizers, etc.
? Qualify vendors
? Track and monitor vendor production schedule
? Conduct periodic inspection during the various stages of production
? Track and monitor non conformance quality issues
Business / Operation functions supports include:
? Customer Engineering Asia and China
? CryoEase Asia and China
? Secondary support to Fleet & Distributions Asia and China

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
1. Engineering, Control & Safety
? Screen and qualify vendors as part of the Low Cost Sourcing Strategy.
? Review engineering design on equipment from vendors to ensure it meets and complies with Air Products requirements on specifications and standards.
? Develop Sustainable Quality Plan to track and monitor vendors quality and track the Cost of Non Conformance.
? Develop Vendors Inspection Plan to carry out details audit at vendor's site periodically.
? Interface with vendors to provide monthly Production Schedule Report and Quality reports
? Supervision of repair at vendor's workshop
2. Continuous Improvement
? Interface with business function team to work on Value Engineering design for existing approved design equipments
? Coordinate with E&M team to develop the strategy for Low Cost Sourcing without compromising on Quality.
3. Documentation
? Interface with Vantage Super Power User to set up equipments templates and to up-load to vantage
? Organize and upload existing approved equipments drawings into Vantage
4. Technical Support
? Provide support to CryoEase team for non-standards projects review.
? Provide technical training on equipments to operations team, trouble shooting of equipments.
? Participate in Global Technical COP meetings
? Lead in design improvement and repairing work
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
1) Diploma / Degree holder on Mechanical / Chemical Engineering
2) 3 years or more work experience
3) Experience Skill sets Include:
a. Preferably with Pressure Vessel design knowledge of EN code, ASME code, and GB codes.
b. Preferably with Welding Knowledge & NDT Knowledge ( Welding Process and Weld Inspection process and various NDT Inspection process )
c. Understand and had work on / trouble shooting on Cryogenic equipments
d. Had work on cryogenic equipments
e. Experience with vendors management
f. Proficiency in MS Office software such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint
g. Good command in Written and Spoken English is a Must, beside Chinese language
