Title:Compliance Manager
Division/Function:Risk and Compliance
Location:China shanghai
Reporting to (Title):Head of Country


1. The Role:
POSITION PURPOSE

Oversee the implementation of risk and compliance policies, strategies and programs to align and comply with organisational and legislative objectives and requirements.


KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES


· Oversee the implementation of compliance policies, procedures, programs and activities within the established frameworks to align to the risk and compliance strategies.

· Develop and oversee the implementation of the Region Compliance Framework and Risk and Compliance organisational structure to coordinate, monitor and deliver risk and compliance activities, services, procedures, processes and systems to support Group, Regional and Business Unit strategies and objectives

· Oversee the conduct and review of analysis and programs, which may include forecasting and identifying risks and tools to provide updated data for the evaluation and production of accurate Risk and Compliance reports.

· Monitor and measure the compliance program against all relevant legislative and licencing requirements

· Supervise the implementation of Compliance programs, training and inspective and incentive activities to provide input within the Compliance Framework.

· Train, mentor and coach staff and team members to ensure that staff are adequately skilled and resourced to perform.

· Partner with internal staff, building internal and external relationships to maintain current information and provide advice, promoting the growth and development of Risk and Compliance measures within the Region.

· Review, update and monitor the risk management strategy, policies, reporting, practices and standards to drive implementation, recommending strategies and promoting enhancement.

· Regional support on insurance placement, claims and strategy.


2. The Person:
DESIRED CAPABILITIES & BEHAVIOURS

· A recognised subject matter expert - works on complex business issues requiring in-depth analysis.

· Frequently contributes to the development of new ideas, provides mentoring to others, and frequently represents the organization to external parties.

· May have project management responsibilities.

· A strong understanding and proven track-record of implementation of legislative requirements in China

· Must be a strong communicator (both written and verbal).

· Fluency in English (written and spoken) is essential.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

· Relevant tertiary qualifications in Business Compliance, Risk Management, Finance, Legal and/or a related technical discipline, combined with typically 5 to 10 years post qualifications experience.

· Experience in a Compliance role and/or knowledge of Construction, Property Development, Investment Management or Retail industries.

· Post qualification experience in Compliance monitoring of operations and Fund Compliance platforms.

· Aptitude in implementation of compliance techniques, methodologies and relevant legislations.

· Good interpersonal, problem solving, technical and analytical skills to support the management and implementation of the risk and compliance operations and to facilitate decision making, manage expectations, influence and build relationships with key stakeholders.
