Main tasks
To face the E/$ exchange rate situation and devaluation, our company needs to work on all the lever to purchase goods in China with better conditions and prices. Two key actions of this company strategy are: to work on re-engineering the running items and to control the cost break down of these items.
For these actions we need en experienced person able to manage.
--Product technical optimization: Find some technical solution in order to reduce the costs for the producer without changing the product overlook/function and design.
--Product loading improvement: find some technical & packaging solutions in order to increase the loadability of the product and reduce the transportation cost.
--To control the cost structure of the running items in order to control the cost break down reality and challenge it.
- Make a follow-up of the main raw materials costs + labor cost in China with real information from official sources and with monthly report.
--Production risk assessment done and Activity Plan implemented and followed up after product changes confirmed.
--The product testing, certification and documentation to be followed according to product modification consequences.
--Communicate and secure changes in product requirements, production changes and working methods.
--Work proactively to improve Customer Experienced Product Quality and solve quality problems with the highest sense of urgency. Octopus and secure functions of our components in the furniture & sofa.
--Involvement in the technical development, implement and development of new products and start of running products at suppliers in order to always save costs (products and/r transportation).
--Secure the product requirements when running products are moved to or from a supplier or modified in the same supplier.
--Share best practice on previous product and production experiences to suppliers.
--Support the supplier in technical improvements that will result in better working condition in production and/or reduced negative environmental impact from the operations.
--Involved in collection and analysis of the competitor’s product information from production in China.
--Ensure proper cross-communication between Sourcing, Quality, Finance, Logistic departments.
--Intense travels needed in all China to go to suppliers locations.
--Other tasks could be assigned by the superior
Requirment:
--At least 8 years or above working experience with similar position focus on furniture and sofa.
--Bachelor degree or above in technical or others.
--Punctually, honesty, responsibility, patient, attentive, Compliant and enforceability.
--Cross function communication skills – English / Mandarin – Oral / Written – Computer
