KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Primary responsibilities
- Develop and implement BT and market segment strategies and tactics in alignment with global strategies
- Lead sales, technical service and marketing efforts in the region
- Drive development of new products and applications to generate new business
- Target setting and performance review for subordinates in sales, marketing and technical service
- Manage costs for the BT
- Identify, analyze and report markets, developments / applications and price structures
- Analyze and report competitors activities and strategies
- Analyze product portfolio in view of usability, competitiveness and completeness and implement corrections in the region
- Develop, improve, update existing market development database (MDB) and market development plans (MDP)
- Team development, staff planning, development and training in close alignment with global BU and Director GC
- Staff recruitment in close alignment with global BU and Director GC
- Keep supply chain management / planning informed of market efforts; actively reflect developments in APO-DP (demand planning) and adjust bottom-up planning to demand-supply realities
- Implement channel and key account strategy in cooperation with DM and KAM (Sales Services)
Specific tasks
- Implement regional BP1, develop regional BP5
- Responsible for goal setting, business plan and implementation of goals, sales targets, pricing and product quality according to customer specification.
- Budgeting / planning / forecasting of sales targets
- Decide, implement, control and monitor pricing and price structure of customers and distributors in alignment with local and global strategies
- Negotiate sales contracts with key customers
- Coordinate cross-functional activities to maximize customer satisfaction.
- Technical and commercial customer contacts on all relevant levels
- Identify new business opportunities and customers
- Develop customer action plans and CDP (customer development plans) where appropriate
- Monitors credit notes, payment terms and receivables
- Decide claims (validity)
- Keep contact with key decision leaders in industry
- Manage distributor activities in cooperation with the DM management
- Monthly reporting on all key market activities and KPI
Other duties
- Participate and drive Wacker’s interests in regional trade associations
- Recommendation and participation of trade shows in the region
REQUIRED QUALIFICATION
- More than 8 years of experience in chemical, coatings or related industry with focus on Sales & Marketing, Tech Service
- Leadership ability to propose local solutions when needed and to get things done locally once aligned with Global Business strategy
- University degree in business and/or science; Master or higher preferred
- Experience in working with and lobbying to government and regulatory institutions related to the targeted industry
- Advanced IT skills (Microsoft Office, SAP)
- Fluent in English, spoken and written
- Excellent communication and conflict management skills (internal and external).
- Experience in a variety of cultures and geographies
- Team-oriented with strong leadership ability
- Target oriented and persistent (never give up)
- Good customer orientation and teamwork attitude
- 2+ years of experience in developing new markets, applications and customers
- Willingness to travel
- Ability to work under pressure
- Ability to work in a matrix organization
- Self-reliant
- Good judgment and common sense
