Purpose of the position
- Leading the product management efforts for Electronics BA globally.
- Development and implementation of product, pricing, and supply strategies for the region in close coordination with logistics function and with prioritisation of Linde ESG plant loading.
- Supporting the RBU countries in development of sources and logistic solutions for ESG product supplies for new business opportunities
- Proactively manage demand vs supply of key strategic ESG products globally.
Principal responsibilities
- Product Management
o Develop and implement product strategies to achieve sales and profitability objectives in line with Linde Electronics K2 targets.
o Define, monitor and report on key performance indicators (financial: Sales ($ and volume) by customer & product
o Develop and implement product supply strategies to reduce material cost and to enhance logistic efficiency.
o Develop pricing strategies and manage product pricing including participation in contract negotiations by actively supporting the business development team.
o Support roll-out of new product introduction and manage interfaces between RBU sales and technology commercialization team
o Coordinate with global logistics function to design supply chains which minimize cost per unit making product cost competitive.
o Understand and maintain understanding of regional market conditions and customer requirements.
o Monitor competitor activities and develop strategies to counter potential threats.
o Working closely with BAE ESG Supply chain team.
- Product Development Support
o Involvement in regular technology review with BAE technology & commercialization team and maintaining understanding on technical capabilities & deliverables of ESG
o Determine new product opportunities and work with the Technical Commercialization Group to deliver growth enhanced by new product offerings and/or concepts to capture a greater share at the customers
o Ensure operational requirements are in place to support any new customer investment
o Ensure rapid dissemination of best commercial practice, new concepts and approaches to the RBUs for new ESG
- RBU Support
o Work with regional companies to improve local manufacturing capabilities and logistic infrastructure.
o Provide price support to regional sales teams and develop recommendations for all major accounts.
o Provide necessary product / technical training to regional sales teams. Establish local knowledge base.
o Provide product/market expertise in support of customer presentations
o Work closely with sourcing & logistics function to enable appropriate advice on new strategic business opportunities and customer project development
Required key skills (functional/technical)
- Effective and excellent interpersonal, negotiation, planning and analytical skills supported by commercial acumen
- Highly skilled at influencing - capable of navigating matrix organisation to achieve complex objectives
- Strategic thinking & understanding of business and legal implications with ability to balance global and local perspectives
- In depth understanding of semiconductor and related industries and their requirements for gases and gas systems.
- Skilled at multi-level relationship development and communication capabilities with different levels of the organisation in various cultures
- Collaborative and team-oriented
- Ability and willingness to travel internationally (circa 30%)
- Well developed change management skills
Required qualifications/experience
- Typically 5+ years experience in Product Marketing and/or Sales in the gases/chemicals industries
- Qualified degree, ideally in technical discipline
- Successful customer management experience with proven track record of profitable customer acquisition and strategic account management
- Significant exposure to international business cultures in Electronics industry
- Proven networking capabilities at various levels in an organization
- Experience with semiconductor gas systems and solutions
