Responsibilities

Qualification

Education & Major: Minimum of Bachelors degree in Chemical Engineering or Chemistry. Masters degree in field of specialty preffered.

Experience:

· Minimum of 5 years engineering experience in pyrotechnic formulating and processing. Pharmaceutical processing experience will also be considered.

· Three to five years demonstrated experience in applications closely related to automotive airbag inflator gas generant and ignition products.

· Knowledge and experience in the processing of pyrotechnic material; mixing, grinding, granulation, and palletizing.

· Experience in qualitative analysis of pyrotechnic material; particle size determination, moisture analysis, density control, pellet dimensional control, strand burn rate testing, DOT classification testing, and chemical speciation analsysis.

· Experience in machine design of pyrotechnic processing equipment as related to ; explosive ratings and requirements of equipment, electrical safety requirements of pyrotechnic equipment, preventive maintenance procedures of pyrotechnic equipment.

· Experience in pyrotechnic chemical formulations such as Guanidine Nitrate, Nitro-Guanidine, 5AminoTetrazole, Strontium Nitrate, BKNO3, Zirconium Potassium Perchlorate (ZPP), Ammonium Nitrate and others.

· Experience in ballistic performance prediction of pyrotechnic material as related to: pressure output, combustion rate, gas particulate and effluent performance, molar output, mass flow analysis.

· In-depth knowledge of pyrotechnic and gas generant formulation and processing. Technical and process expertise within function. Strong technical ability with a sound grasp of quality, manufacturing methodology. A high level of self-motivation and drive to accomplish tasks.

Language & Computer Requirements: Good command of English required.
